even in win xp you need to make sure its using the correct com port. read the instructions carefully. Also if your using a usb to serial connector try updating/ checking you have the correct drivers.

REmember satnavs 10+ years ago were pretty basic. Discs will be well out of date and expensive to replace. The one in my 2001 works but never gets used, google navigation on my phone is a million percent better. Save your money you will need it for something else on a P38 soon enough

Data, after seeing you comment i looked and found that the front sidelights flash as well, so none of the indicators flash just the sidelights. so that might solve the mystery. Is that an individual becm setting or is anythng else related too it? Will check the becm connections for corrosion...

If its red its transmssion fluid, at least its red not brown which is a good sign.. Thats about where the sump is could be just the gasket around the sump or the drain or filler not sealed properly
