    Rock-Sliders tubular winch bumper

Hello all, Was checking rock-sliders.co.uk and noticed they have a tubular winch bumper for the Defender. It looks nice and the price is about half of the usual for those pieces. Land Rover Defender 90/110 Front Winch Bumper Buy Direct from the Manufacturer Does anyone here has any...

    300tdi expansion tank cap

Hello, My Defender 300tdi had a new bleed pipe hose (the Y one to the expansion tank) replaced in January. I noticed a small leak at the plastic junction last month, and then a week ago the thing busted.... My mechanic said it was a defective unit and replaced it with an original one. My...

    Defender 300tdi oil filter leak

The filter was a Coopers Today I swapped it for a MANN filter. The leak was reduced, but it's still there. I inspected the area and I'm almost sure it is definitely from the filter/housing matting

    Defender 300tdi oil filter leak

Thanks for all the help When I removed the filter I checked the seal and it seemed (seemed..) OK. I also confirmed that the old one wasn't there. As for the fuel lift pump, it is an year old OEM with respective gasket.

    Defender 300tdi oil filter leak

Hello, So a week ago I changed the oil and oil filter of my 90 300tdi as usual. Some 100 miles later I checked the oil level and it dropped from the max where I left it to the minimum. I corrected the level, but then noticed that there was some oil on the floor. I traced it to the oil...

Ultra dumb question - stall in 1st gear low range by handbrake

Ok, here it goes: So this afternoon I finished adjusting the diff lock linkage. I was seated on the passenger seat, organizing the tools in the roll and asked someone to start the engine to warm it up. I then realized that I forgot the car in gear, 1st low range. I couldn't reach the keys...

Ultra dumb question - stall in 1st gear low range by handbrake

Hello, Here goes the dumb question of the week: I was in low range first gear and the engagement of the handbrake made the car stall. Is it possible to have damaged or weakened something due to the big forces involved? The first answer will win the explanation of how this happened, I bet...

Defender 90 and Police Spec springs

I recently had the opportunity to drive a Defender with the NRC4304 Police Spec springs and really liked it. Can those springs be mounted with the original lengh shocks? Thanks

235/85R16 tyres on standard LR 5.5J rims?

So the general opinion is that I'm better with the current modulars? I love the Wolfs, but they don't come along cheap here in Portugal.

Diff lock engages by itself while driving

So this morning I went for a little investigation. Jacked one of the rear wheels and tested the diff lock. Turns out the the position the lever jumps to while driving is not locking the diff. Went under the car to check the linkage and found that the said position is kind of an intermediate...

235/85R16 tyres on standard LR 5.5J rims?

Here goes a little thread ressurection! Are there any more opinions on this issue? I'm currently running 235/85r16 BF ATs on 16x7 modular rims. I happen to be a big fan of original parts and the black, wide rims with plastic fake studs annoy me quite a bit. I can get a set of traditional white...

Diff lock engages by itself while driving

Nope, it is not the light I am talking about here, that thing barelly works even when I want it. There's actual lever movement. Is there any schemathic of the diff lock/lever linkage? Thanks

Diff lock engages by itself while driving

Hello, To my surprise, I've found at the end of my last two or three drives that I had the diff lock engaged. I confirmed at the beginning that the lock was off, so it seems that it jumped into the "ON" position by itself. The car is a Defender 90 300tdi Has anyone ever had this...

Changed my rear top link bushes and... WOW

Here's the deal: NTC1773G | Top link bush (Metalastik - OE) - rear axle The bolts where true LR label ones though. Had to source them locally since I forgot to order them along with the bushes. Quite expensive but unnecessary

Changed my rear top link bushes and... WOW

Sorry, when I said "radius arms" I meant trailing arms. I paid £3,75 for each top link bush from PaddockSpares

Changed my rear top link bushes and... WOW

I used genuine LR bushes and bolts. Next I'll also change the radius arms bushes, I have some play at the front of the arm.

Changed my rear top link bushes and... WOW

Hello, My 90 300tdi had all the usual stuff renewed, water pump, clutch, adjusted swivel pins, etc. The steering was not perfect, but I always assumed it was like that, a Defender steering. The little klunk it made during take off and braking was always assumed to be from the usual A-frame...
