    Freelander Rally Car

Is that the same spec as the wounded soldiers were using on Top Gear last season? If so I'm a bit surprised at the price as I thought they were entry level kit, unlike the Wildcat they were working up to :D TBH, I don't see owt much on it that would make it worth that sort of money, but...

new landy hooked me all ready

There was life before hazard lights ;) :) Also we used to keep our eyes open in fog and slow down, if you didn't you ran into the back of some ruddy indestructable LR with poxy little 2" diameter lights on each side :p :D Both 'faults' were perfectly legal in the 1970s, the indicator may...

    LRM writer joins the Zone...

Belated hello and welcome. If you think this is rough I'm a member of a make specific bike forum where the welcome is WAFO, and yes, it what you might think it is :) As with this place I ignored the gentle abuse and now enjoy another very useful forum. If you are genuinely willing then...

What tyres do you have on your freelander

Nice one, I'll look up a few of my local upmarket breakers and see what they want for Merc tyres :) We just put a set of Pirellis on the wife's car but getting a wear matched set may take a while and if they are cheap enough having them hanginng around wont be a problem :)

Newbie to the LRF scene - thoughts?

If you are serious about modifying the thing then you can swap the engine out for one from a MG ;) 160 BHP in a Freelander :) While working on the MG engine, swap the head gasket along with the other mods listed above, do it all (and do it right) and you're very unikely to have further...

    bad vibrations

You have to ask???? What is the world coming to, the bigger the 'ammer the bettererererer it works FFS :D Back on vibration, check your tyres, it's not unknown for brand new tyres to delaminate, a very easy thing to muck up during production, fortunately very rare, but worth a quick...

What tyres do you have on your freelander

Bet they don't do 'em in 17" 55 section though :( The wife's has these on, they seem to be very, very, nice :D

    hello

Hello and welcome :) Be prepared for the jealous abuse from the other Land Rover owners on here, you will be called a Gaylander owner before long, get used to it :) Defenders, Series etc are 'tratters' Discoverys = rust piles Range Rovers require butlers ;) If you can take the ****...

North Yorks F&R buy Evoques for Snr Staff

I'd have thought Freelanders would have done the do, however, a lot of lease cost is depreciation, the evoque probably has very low depreciation as it is a new Land Rover :)

Hello, looking for my 1st 4x4

I'm sort of hoping for both, just call me greedy, but from what I have read and seen a Range Rover will meet both. All I need now is a Range Rover that does 50mpg around town and costs under 2k and me = happy. Yup, I want it all, I'll probably get it too, or close, with a little...

Newbie would like to say hello and get some advice..

Did you miss my post? 25k miles on the power setting, no issues. The engine had done 95k before I got the car, according to the service history it's still on the original injectors. Not too many high mileage users on here, I think Singvogel is about the highest mileage Freelander Synergy...

Newbie would like to say hello and get some advice..

My Rover 75 has been on the high power setting on the Synergy since I got it, I've done 25,000 miles since then and (touch wood) the injectors are still fine :) It's only been moved back to medium since diesel went over £1.40 a litre :(

Hello, looking for my 1st 4x4

Thank You. I'll keep my eyes open for a decent sensble mileage diesel. Since joining this place I've fancied doing some off roading, but as the wife doesn't me to 'break' her Freelander by off roading it getting a decent 4x4 of my own is sneaking onto my 'to do' list, the thing that's been...

    Freelander 1 ird box

Unless you absolutely know the VCU is good, do the VCU test before yoou drive it anywhere. If you're marginally mechanically minded search for "Bell Engineering VCU test", then do that to yours before spending an hour or so fitting it, only to find ot it's no good.

    bloody w/mirrors

It really does depend on what's up with them, drop into the freelander section and run a search for folding mirrors, there are some good suggestions in them. Sadly non of them worked on the wife's so I'm trawling eBay regularly to try and find a sensbily priced replacement.

    Buying my first Freelander

The 03 is pricey in my opinion, a quick look on AutoTrader turned up these two Td4s with 30 odd thousand miles on, both for well under £6k :)

    newbie needs help

Take a look in the middle of the V, I've heard of them leaking water there and it can go un-noticed due to the intake plumbing. The head gasket can fail without getting oil in the water as well. Check the cap on the header bottle, if that doesn't seal any more then water can 'escape' that...
