If its imported then DVLA requires a proof of date of manufacture from LR and then they issue a plate that is relevant to the date it was made, not first sold.

+1 my standard LR exhaust on my 1984 90 points 100% toward the kerb and not at all backwards. It is angled slightly down wards rather than straight out but it is much more exposed to little fingers than a modified example.
