Galv chassis and was convinced to do the bulkhead as well which I wish I hadn't done cause I don't think I would have had this grief. The chap who did it says he will fix it but ive only had it back a week and he had it for 4 months so needless to say its a no brainer.

Doing a search it seems to be a common thing. All with same sort of problem but many different solutions I just haven't found mine yet.

Hi yip that's what ive been doing cleaned all the earth terminals and connected a jump lead to earth on ecu. It helps but only slightly when you start turning on lights it sends the gauges up but if you turn on the heater it goes wild. Thanks.

Took the ecu earth right back to the battery. And guess what? No joy. Does the heater matrix have an earth??

Tried earthing out the ecu with absolutely no joy all terminals are fine beginning to think its because the chassis is galvanised. Connected it to the gearbox it helps but not a lot. Also connected it to the main earth on engine again no good needless to say am bamboooooozzzzled. Reaching for a...

Hi Ratty tried that but there seems to be more to it when the ignition is on the earth cable sparks when you touch the earthing point. I was going to try earthing it back to the gearbox.

Guys the problem is 80% solved I,ve got a bad earth below the ECU my problem is now how do solve it?? Aaaaaaaahh relief

Here is what I discovered tonight the rear fog light bulb holder corroded, this helped the indicators to work when removed. but now when you turn the hazard lights on the fuel pump begins to prime. also with full beam the temp gauge goes off the scale but I wont be beat not for a couple of days...

Put another 0 on it I might consider it galv chassis and bulkhead.

Hi guys my friend has a tdci defender which is giving him a lot of trouble at present. Once you get to forty it starts spluttering if you get my meaning. Usual been done all filters replaced, maf checked, egr replaced no faults appearing on computer anyone any ideas. Cheers.
