Well, Thanks mystery. Because of you I've found the problem, and boy was it a problem. It most definitely was the header plug and I'd never found it without your help. It was actually under all the fabric like wrapping they had wrapped around the loom Still wet. The water had gone down the loom...

    Disco 1 Electrical Gremlin!

Let's hope so. I can only assume there was some damp in the header plug mention above and it was allowing a current to get into the green and white wire. Cheers James

    Disco 1 Electrical Gremlin!

Well, your not going to believe this, it's fixed itself! Just got home from work and on the off chance I put the bulb back in thinking I'd check the two connectors. It didn't come on. So I put the hazards on and works fine. Popped the ignition on and it works fine. All flashing as it should and...

    Disco 1 Electrical Gremlin!

Hey Discool, Lots of info there, thanks I will change the battery on the fob and see if the indicators flash on unlock. I did test the battery with a multimeter and it was over 3v but not by much. 3.1v I think. I assumed that was okay but clearly not. I knew the alarm module did the flash on...

    Disco 1 Electrical Gremlin!

That is a really good diagram. I've only got a black and white one from the 1995 electrical workbook. I haven't tried removing that pin but I can. That looks like it's connected to the front indicator as well?? It also looks like it's connected to the MFU as well on connection K? I do know that...

    Disco 1 New car judder...

After sitting under the vehicle for some extensive welding I have noticed they the rear prop appears to be not inline with the pinion in the diff. It's definitely broken the doughnut before as I can see a bolt head gouge in the propshaft fitting. So I'm thinking the car has been lifted. I...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Disco 1. Put a new drivers seat diaphragm. Cut out and replaced the two 30amp fuse holder behind the glove box for the heated windscreen (loose connection causing heat and melting the holder) Found out why the factory fitted front spotlights weren't working and fixed it. Used some amazing crimp...

So much for Exmoor trim being fantastic. Seat diaphragm split after a couple of years. I emailed and got ignored. So here is a picture of the offending article now I've removed it and replaced it with an eBay special. Let's see which one lasts the longest..........

    Disco 1 New car judder...

Hey everyone, so I've got this new disco 1. It's a 1999 300tdi. Lovely clean car, I believe it's had a boost pin fitted but I cannot say for sure, it has a receipt for one being fitted and it seems to pull very nice. However, more noticeable in third when pulling away it has a judder. It had a...

    Disco 1 Helicoils

Yep, I agree that the ¼inch drive torque is better for the lower torques. Having said that some of the bigger ones don't go much below 30nm. I always feel that a standard ¼inch drive ratchet should only be used for 10mm and below when tightening..,.lol

    Disco 1 Helicoils

Cheers guys, I've got the helicoil kit already, I'm not keen taking the head off as I've only just done it this weekend with a victor reinz multilayer. When I took it off I just thought it was loose. It wasn't till I reassembled that I realised it was already stripped. Too late by then...

Disco 1 Off to the graveyard....

Sorry I've been off the grid. Had the worst tooth pain with a tooth infection ....... I've bought the car back as salvage only. It has been put as a category B so it is never allowed to be repaired. There reason is that two and a half years ago it was written off as a catagory N. I bought it...

Disco 1 Off to the graveyard....

My trusty 300tdi was hit on a roundabout. Non fault accident and it has been written off. Due to it being the second time I'm not allowed to put it back on the road. It has to be scrapped. Real shame for a bent wing and bumper So it's off to the graveyard.
