    Replacement front wishbone.

If the strut is not bent, is it something I should be worried about?

    Replacement front wishbone.

My new wishbone for my 2004 TD4 has just arrived. I was having a look around yesterday before I fit it and noticed that the gap between the inside top edge of the tyre and the strut is about 3 or 4mm where as the gap on the right hand side of the car is double that. Could that be due to the...

Cheers Nodge, that's what I was hoping to hear.

    Diff front mount

Should I be able to move the diff enough without unbolting anything else?

    Diff front mount

Need to change the diff front mount. Have searched on the forum but this has only confused me more. Is it an easy DIY job? I know the diff needs to be supported but will I need to slacken the 2 rear mounts to allow the front of the diff to be moved so the front mount can be removed? I have also...

Cheers Nodge. Good advice as always.

    Freelander 1 Spanish MOT

Thanks Nodge. For clarity, if I can get the tester to put one wheel on a dolley to allow that wheel to spin while the other axle is being brake tested, that should be OK? If not, I'll have to drop the propshafts prior to the MOT. Quick bottom ball joint question while I'm here. Is it easier to...

    Freelander 1 Spanish MOT

I have had a quick search and opinion seems to be divided. If I can persuade the tester to to put one wheel on the not tested axle in a dolley that allows that wheel to rotate, will that stop any damage being caused?

    Freelander 1 Spanish MOT

My 2004 TD4 is due an MOT next week, which here in Spain is a drive through affair. When it comes to the brake test, the front wheels are dropped on to a roller while the rear wheels remain on the ground, without spinning. The rears are then dropped onto the roller to be tested while the front...

    Freelander 1 TD4 Intermittent knocking

Can the CV joint be replaced or is it part of the front propshaft? Think the top hose is about £30 but it will have to be changed as it looks like it doesn't have long left. Do I need to remove the inlet manifold to get to the engine connection, looks very tight otherwise?

Freelander 1 TD4 radiator top hose

While poking around under the bonnet today I noticed that the radiator top hose has become soft/swollen and where it connects to the engine the metal clamp/band has started to cut into the hose. It will have to be changed, is this an easy job? A quick google for a new hose shows it to have some...

    Freelander 1 TD4 Intermittent knocking

It's in the CV on the prop. It's not much movement but I don't how much is normal, if any.

    Freelander 1 TD4 Intermittent knocking

Engine tie bar bush seems fine but it would have helped if the numptys at the garage that refitted the IRD had tightened the tie bar mounting bolts! And not left a couple of the undertray mounting bolts out! And not shafted a couple of the propshaft mounting torx bolts by rounding them off...

    Freelander 1 TD4 Intermittent knocking

Hola. Re-furbed IRD back in and all going very well so far. I've had an intermittent knock for a while now which the re-built IRD hasn't cured. It normally happens when pulling away from standstill but oddly, not when the car is cold, only when everything has warmed up. It's worse when the car...

Are there any members out there, on the Iberian peninsular, who know of reputable suppliers of reconditioned VCUs?
