    No Accelleration and battery flat

need to check the oil pump bolt. if this has come loose and lost oil pressure then that could explain the lack of accelleration (engine could be seizing up)

    Disco 2 purchase

i would go with the 04 plate. 26K on an X plate to me is a bit low for it's age (in that it could show up a few of the usual nasties i.e. head gasket due to plastic dowl's in the head, oil in loom etc)

    disco 3 opinions

i would go for the rangie and loose the A-bar . I do think they are a bit on the pricey side (the other vehicles they have look a bit high too i.e 03 plate disco 2 for £12K:eek:) Get yourself up this way, have seen similar vehicles for less than £13k

    Cooking on a DII's TD5...

Opps! Must wake up properly before Reading posts (and then read them correctly!!) think you would struggle on a td5 as the main heat source (maniflod) is quite small and also covered by a heat shield

    Police Checks

A6 is shut just south of Buxton due to a landslide. Take the A515 south then cut across to the A6 or take A623 (will have to go north for a bit to Dove Holes)

    Cooking oil in TD5

thinking about taking the plunge and chucking a couple of bottles of svo into the tank but have read on the net that it's too thick and will bugger up the fuel pump?

Just got my nanocom and have a few questions....

you need to give it a drive now you've cleared the fault codes. A lot of those look like they could be caused by oil in the loom (injector ones give it away!).

    TD5 Starting Issue

could be a number of things but I would check that the fuel pump is priming (can you hear it pump with the igition on?) and get it on a diag machine to make sure the crank sensors not playing up

    engine oil

thats not bad. have been quoted £1200 just for the car + cleaning, air con discharge, paper work this end + dock and goverment charges the other end Still, it's prob only worth £4k over here and it would cost me in the region of $14K over there for the same model/year

    very poor TD5 mpg

Nope! all pressures as they should be. K&N (clean), recently serviced. even polished it at the weekend to see if that would improve MPG!!!
