Is it something you are building or buying? If buying make sure its not a stolen 200tdi defender with a series number plate, someone on here got caught out with one of these and seems to have disapperead when he realised he was probably driving round in a stolen motor.

This may sound silly but if you are going for LPG make sure you have a local station which sells it, nothing worse than having to drive for miles to find some. Also if it has the LPG conversion make sure the tanks are big even a 100l tank will only give you about 300-350 miles of range. Also...

What about something near Whaddon off road course, it is very near to Milton Keynes which is full of b&bs and hotels and just looking online there is a couple of campsites near by. Easy access from M1 and M40. Sorry dont know anyone at the site but though be a good centrallish location.

If you have already done all the work why does it matter what its worth? If you right it off the insurance company will only pay you market value unless you get a specialist insurance with an agreed valuation.
