    bubbling window rubbers

Hi All, I have bubbling window rubbers on the back doors. It looks as though they have gotten wet so I count myself lucky that the door did not fall off. Am to understand that it is the aluminium strip inside the rubber that is corroding and causing the bubbling, and not the steel door...

    Holy Sh*t, disconnected MAF

Yeah considering a Ron box just bothered and the insurance increase. By the time I have coughed the extra, it'll be just as cheap to get the OEM one. Also worried about the extra strain a ron box would put on a TD4 with 237,000 miles on it. Don't want to kill it altogether :) The Synergy 2...

    Holy Sh*t, disconnected MAF

Hi All, After having issues with low power for quiet some time, this morning I have bitten the bullet and disconnected the MAF. At first is ran really roughly until i revved it a couple of time. It also seems to be noisier. On on the road though, wow. It's like going from a double...

New Maf : Pierburg or Bosch

Admiral and Diamond that I am with now added mucho moola for the nudge bar and towbar. Admiral wanted to list the alloy wheels as a modification, but I got proof from landrover that it came out of the factory with alloys on. They backed down on that one. They then expected me to pay even...

DD and I are going to have a stab at a Toyota engine Hippo. Any inupt would be cool.

Mazda did use the same Jatco auto box as the Freelander. Not sure if that mean that you don't need an adaptor plate to put the Mazda lump in there.

New Maf : Pierburg or Bosch

Hi All, It would appear that the lack of power that my 2001 TD4 has display for some time now is definately down to a dodgy MAF. A new part from the stealers is around £400. A Ronbox 2a and Pierburg is around £400 also. The car is already registered as modified with the insurance as it...

    Rear Diff

Diff mounts where done previously, in course of sorting this out. So long ago that they are probably due to be done again. Will check the trailing arm bushes out.

    Rear Diff

All the time an effort spend on this issue that no one appears to know anything about (one garage told my that it was just tyre noise, all 4x4s make it and i'm paranoid!!), I could have had a new diff and 2 drive shaft on the car. Incidently, Ashcrofts cannot supply diffs anymore!

    Rear Diff

Hi Guys, Wondered if anyone could diagnose a rear end issue as non of the garages around me can offer any explaination. I have a bearing noise on the rear of the Freelander from about 35mph upwards. Sitting in the back seat whilst driving, it sounds like the right hand side. The wheel...

I SO DO want this !

The wheels always look too small under the higher than normal Freelander arches It will be top heavy! GRP panels over a space frame chassis or partial space frame on a Disco chassis is the way forward ;)

    one amigo then F4......

The gear select display did F and 4 as you said, like when i got it wet once  When it does that is like its only using 3rd or 4th gear. It drives in that one gear and accelerates like a double decker bus. This has not happened again since.

Is my FL two wheel drive

Is there a prop shaft and VCU actually fitted to the car? If not, some places take off the prop shaft pinion from the back end of the VCU and put a blanking plate over it. Bell Engineering sell a 2WD IRD.
