    Fitting a heated screen

Fitted an aftermarket screen and wiring kit in my 1998 300Tdi. Kit contained everything needed to install, including a screen. Cost about £300.00 if i remember. Best £300.00 i've spent on it.

    Britpart LED headlights

I'd like to pass on some of my experiences of the last couple of weeks and LED headlights on my Defender 90 300Tdi. A fortnight ago, I purchased some LED Headlights from Ebay for about £160.00. Their appearance was very similar to the Truck-Lite brand, but these were manufactured in China, and...

Preparations for COLD - minus 5c

I'll add that I had my heated screen professionally fitted. I wouldn't recommend anyone do it, unless they have significant experience. It's a b*stard of a job!

Preparations for COLD - minus 5c

The best £300 I've ever spent has been a heated front screen in my 90 300Tdi. If you can, you won't regret.

How much have you spent on your Defender?

As the wife might read this, ours only ever needs routine servicing. It never costs any more than our other car, a Ford Focus. Unfortunately, I can't explain why I'm unable to find a single invoice relating to work undertaken on the Defender. (Wife, if you read this:- Sorry love, I must be more...

Damn you lift pump or is it just me?

I don't know the exact spec of the pump, I'm afraid. It's a Facet Lift Pump from the States, and it retailed for about £85.00. I have attached two photos of the install, if it helps.

Damn you lift pump or is it just me?

Got so fed up of lift pump failures (even the Delphi ones!), and diesel entering the sump, that I had an electric lift pump professionally fitted to my 300tdi a year ago. No issues since.....

    Indicator problems

Stick a BMW badge on it, and it won't matter if the indicators don't work!

    Recommend me some tyres...

Have to be honest, and say the BFG AT KO2 is a great tyre on road. I put four on last month (not cheap!) and they're amazingly quiet at speed, considering how aggressive the tread pattern is. I haven't taken them off road as such, as I purchased them with a view to pulling a horse trailer over a...

    Defender door

Do a bit of research on The Sale Of Goods Act. The retailer (not the manufacturer) can have a responsibility to a product for up to 6 years from date of sale. If it is reasonable for you to expect a door on a vehicle to last more than 4 years without falling apart, and the door has only seen...

    Leaking

What did you name your Defender?

The missus insists ours is referred to as Mr Len Drover. She's ever-so polite, you know!
