Is it not cheaper to buy a normal small digital camera with a a decent GB memory card recording ability & mount OR is it it ultimately better to have a more expensive GPS and time stamp camera recording ... anyone had to use this data in court?

It's simply economics, current 'real landy' owners will have spent a lot of cash keeping their Disco's roadworthy, whether it be gearbox/transfer-box, diff's, welding, engine mod's, body work .... at the end of the day, if need be, their Disco is worth more to them broken up than sold as a whole...

Remember though ... if a garage flare's your brake pipes they are guaranteed, should they fail ;)

Admittedly the cheapy ones (if you buy one) are frustrating and crap to use unless you practise ... hence why I find it easier to get a local garage to do it for a fiver;)
