that will not be a series 2 legally, i looked into it with my series 2a hybrid, and even with 2.25 petrol, standard gearbox, diffs, most of the bodywork could still not be registered as a series. the points system works *something* like this: body axles chassis engine transmition suspension...

im not sure, my landy is running better and more powerfully on gas than it was on petrol, and more economicaly. although i think thats to do with the carb was fecked. it used a 3rd of a gallon to do under a quater of a mile which is pretty bad!!!!! it was also underpowered and ticking over at...

my dads know the boss since school so i can get stuff really cheap, and the local offroad has a few people who will take anything to an event and trash it, meaning it tends to end up in there... the gas conversion was actualy off a forklift but it fitted straight onto the 2.25 :D

would look better with 1ton steelys, look ilke series wheels but 2" more offset. :cool: also 750's or even 900's if you can get them, would be sweet. :cool:

i got 2 winches for £50, fitted one in my landy, swapped the other with a mate for some landy bits. a set of 4 branch manifolds for rangerover for a tenner, painted and sold for £140 pair of brand new dumper tyres for the landy fifty quid and a gas conversion kit for 2.25, that was a tenner...

done it on my hybrid, works amazing. you loose a bit of turning circle-my series used to have very good turning circle, now its about the same as a disco-mines an 88..... :o it also means that when you blow up the front axle its not too bad in 2wd... :D ive blown welded diffs, but then ive blown...

i think by "more ground clearence" he means a disco is less likely to ground in the middle because its shorter wheelbase, but to be honist for what it sounds you would be better off with a defender.

looks good, how much you taking off the back? it looks nasty when people leave too much at the back (at least in my opinion). are you going to leave the hard top on? yeah i get what you mean about the moneys-im 14 so going for a replasement chassis was completely out of the question. :)

sounds good, just get some pics up so that the rivet counters all tell you why its such a bad idea :D its not though, its great, did it to mine and it hasnt "snapped" or broken. a well welded rangerover chassis with dsc brakes etc has got to be safer than a series with drum brakes and a 1/2...

well ive had 2 spare weeks so i decided to get the series in the workshop and give it a wee bit of maintainence... so the first day was spent fitting some procomp +3" es9000 shocks (for a rangerover..) then some new batterys went in, so she should start now and be able to winch for more than 2...

the series that the enginee for mine came out of had a genuine 20k when i put it in and so after 7 years its probably on a maximum of 21k :D
