Is your car by any chance a Japanese reimport? When I had mine I came across somewhere that the " spider" was not fitted and neither was an immobiliser. This is from memory. I had to get an immobiliser fitted to satisfy insurance co. I could be wrong but worth maybe looking into.

A tip to remember. If you only need bolts/nuts and you have the size, go to your nearest Cat or JCB dealer. Usually of top quality and reasonably cheap.

I suggest you phone Colin at Gibsons Auto Services in Cumnock. They repaired my chassis with a hole in rear section. They could also possibly supply and fit a quarter chassis. I have seen a D2 in their premises with a galvy chassis they fitted. Wee bit to travel but lot closer than going south.

I may be wrong, but I think the 300Tdi engine did not have a DPF or even a cat. The flexible section is just that. I also remember many threads about fitting a Defender 300Tdi exhaust which does not have the flexi section. This is from memory when I had my own 300Tdi.
