Have you checked all brakes for binding ? a lot of folk trying to get more power overlook the simple things first. Me included. Whip the rear prop off then check to see how free the handbrake drum spins (they are prone to getting full of sludge especially if you go through any deep stuff)...

What size tyres did you buy ?

Hi Pete I had the same concerns when i bought mine. I got the Bulkhead removal bar and seat rails from Mudstuff. Rails & Bars Takes you back and also lifts you slightly, Then if you need a little more you could get a small steering wheel. Made a world of difference to me.

And heres the new one along with some new hoses and a service kit. Gave it about an hours run and fingers crossed all seems sound so far.

Then the clean up.

And so the strip began.

Gave the neighbours something to chuckle at i guess.

Sorry are you saying your getting 38mpg with a roof rack and roof tent fitted ? :eek:

Might have more luck if you narrow it down a bit. Tyres for what ? What size ? (Do you already have wheels or do you need wheels too)
