Electric fan instead of viscous fan???

I fitted a kenlow electronic fan to my dads range rover diesel (p38) a few months ago, and its the best thing we ever done. It seems quite a lot nippier, certanly a lot quieter and slightly better on diesel. The temperature probe now fits in the radiator fins as close to the top hose as...

    the plot thickens

I had this sort of puzzling problem on a range rover classic. I had the car into an automatic gearbox specialist but the gearbox was fine, still i had a clonk and when left in park on a hill it would roll. I learnt to live with it for a few months then i sent it into a independant land rover...

    Which Mig?...Which Mig?

Portamig are generally ok, but the newer sip migs havent got a very good name. Have a look around here, MIG Welding - The DIY Guide, they are a good bunch of people and will give some good sound advice. Mark

    Disco 2 wheel nuts

Yes you need the disco 3 nuts the thread is the same. When you fit the spigot rings (if they are the aluminium ones) give them a coat of copper grease, it will stop them sticking if you need to change the wheels back. Also if it goes anywhere for work to be done make shure they are aware that...

Disco TD5 Rumble at 55-70 mph

Check the engine mountings, you can get a rumble from the engine amplified through the chassis if they are gone. If you look at the mountngs from underneath the car there is a small hole in the center of the metal base. push a piece of wire through the hole until it touches the rubber mounting...

Thinking of a TD5... Any Tips?

I also have 2 shoots, 1 is just fields and easily accessible by any normal car but the other is 500acres of woodland where a 4x4 is needed. I had a p38 range rover previously running lpg and it did everything i asked of it and more, but it was always having problems and was very expensive to...

Thinking of a TD5... Any Tips?

Got mine in feburary and its great, can`t fault the motor. Done a cam seal and thats all. The best advise is to check everything works as it should, and that it has been serviced regular, and get one there great. Mark

    Disco wheels

Done some checking and the disco 3 wheels are the same as the range rover 3 and sport so they will fit, but they have to have the correct wheel nuts (disco 3 nuts) to suit the wheels. The spigot rings are also required or they will vibrate. If you are going to get spigot rings go for the...

    Disco wheels

No were talking about diffrent things. I completely agree with you about adapter plates they are dangerous. Spigot rings just make up the diffrence between the piece on the hub that sticks out as the mk 3 wheels have a slightly larger center, (i think its around 2mm) These are some spigot...

    Disco wheels

I told my insurance when i fitted mk3 rr wheels to my p38 with spiggot rings and they wern`t intrested. I do think spacers are dangerous (the type that makes the wheel sit out further) but personally spiggot rings i cant see why they would be, as they sit on the center of the hub and can`t...

Changing from RR P38 to disco 2 TD5

Hi I changed from a 1996 4.6hse p38 in feburary to an 03 disco TD5se auto facelift model. All i can say is it is a truly brilliant car. I loved the p38 and although it had a lot of faults in the 4 years i owned it (slipped liner, flexy plate, suspension ect). The TD5 however is completely...
