Crankcase Breather Filter & Electric Sunroof sticking

Mine was always closed but nevertheless the iron ring around was always rusting at the front. It was also always wet and as said rusty. Now it's still rusted but doesn't rust any further and at least always dry. Now I keep the inner roof closed and no problem for me.

Crankcase Breather Filter & Electric Sunroof sticking

I took out the fuse, and after closing it firmly I put a ring of silicone around on top of the roof, it doesn't look very nice but it's watertight .....:bounce:

Crankcase Breather Filter & Electric Sunroof sticking

And if the inside of the crankcase breather filter is a plastic cyclone type and not a cotton roll don't change it. The plastic BMW type is ok and the one you want to have. (Sorry Singvogel but felt he needs to know that just in case the previous owner had it changed already).

    Yellow button on gear stick

Hello banditste, Re the yellow button, you can check the functioning of the HDC when you push that button and see the linked controlsymbol lights up on the dash, then you put your car in 1st gear and you give it a go to over 4mph, better is to go as fast as you can in 1st gear, when...

    Whats this ?

After switching off the engine you can hear that little fan running out for some seconds, at least I can hear it in mine, and no need to test it or follow a special routine. Just daily shut off and I hear it inside the car. But don't forget we on the continent sit on the side of that box, almost...

How can I tell what BHP my Td4 is??

To know for sure what bhp you have is easy, have the engine chipped and ask a result on their testbench.:D (I have the standard engine for the 2001 Td4 Steptronic + 30 extra hp's, so whether it is 138 or 142 is the least of my concern, also the top speed is of no interest to me, all I want, and...

    another maf question

No experience with a disconnected maf myself but what I can make out of what I've red in other posts I think you can only feel a difference when driving the car, disconnect and reconnect will not give any difference on tickover in my opinion. Not like a petrol engine when you disconnect one...

    Deep water

Contrary to the side where to drive we do apply the priority from right rule as you do overthere, it makes much more sense when driving on the left hand side of the road like in the uk, that gives you half the width of the road extra time/room/sight when people come from the right. When we come...

No, we ask "wat is het verbruik?", for us it sounds the same as milage to you. And the germans call it "verbrauch", the others southerns, northerns and eastern people I don't know. Southerns are spanish, italians, portuguese, greeks etc.. northerns scandinavians and easterns the ex eastblock...

    Deep water

When you say milage you mean the amount of gas the car needs ? Mine does 10 litres per 100 kilometres, which is about 2.2 imp.gallons per 62.14 miles. And it's called "verbruik" in flemish and "consommation" in french and each different language in Europe has probably its own word for it ? So...

Who cares what these filthy Yanks are spelling it, I did it in Flemish ... And as this forum handles about cars I thought mainly when referring to speed etc.. doing so many kilometres per hour and not miles per hour, one of the standard tests for cars is from 0 to 60 (miles) for us it...

Hi Freelaner, MHM and others, I give up, will certainly be correct to use mm as standardmeasurements, especially in engineering. Also there are no rubbish posts at all on this forum. But now to keep going on with metrics, now that you lot have taken the first step in mm, when will it be...
