washed it and polished it :) Got a strange whistle from my turbo, sounds like super charger whining now rather then a turbo. Thought it was a leaky hose but they are all tight and double the jubilee clips up, cant spot any obvious holes..... hope its not anything sinister like dying turbo :(

Wait! never fear! i was a bit peed off so went and had another look before the light ran out. Turns out a hose clamp was damaged and had got stuck so felt like it was tight but actually wast, had a spare so changed it over and turbo is nice a quiet and hissing healthy :) Happy man now :amen...

replaced my starter motor, pig of job but all done now. Turbo is now making a strange noise, sounds more like a squeal rather then a whistle, thought i found the problem with a leaky hose but it still seems to be making the noise. Any ideas? its been one thing after another this month. tis...

ok cheers for that, bought a second hand replacement and will buy another solenoid as a spare i think :) at least i will have a complete motor spare if it is working :)

okay, that sounds like an idea, would that be because of the solenoid or the motor its self?? Dont know anything about the starter motor if you hadnt guessed haha it hasnt gone until now ;)

would that cause the grinding noise then? because it still starts, dont know how much longer it will do though :/

I could do with one too :/ mine is sitting in the back with lots of play and a nasty grinding sound as you turn it haha. Didn't realize there was a difference pump for disco 200 tdi? thought only defender and disco were different.

Took all me belts of and gave the pulleys a wiggle as i was instructed to do. Turns out there is some play in the steering pump and when spinning the pulley the bearings are noisy. So i took the pump off and emptied the system of ATF fluid. sounds even worse now the pump is empty of fluid, real...
