Cheers Hippo, Im going to order up a set 8f gkns anyway as going by noise and location im pretty sure the current bearings are goosed. On the bright side the old ones should come off fairly easily as they havent been on too long.

Just a note to give closure to question I posted but seems nobody had any info. The reading I was getting of 1.6 ohms between slabs ecu connection and earth seems fine. No fault codes and system reset. Seems I need a new rear sensor though!!

Btw , I cant get on diagnostic til monday so I have been checking just in case it turns out to be something simple. Also measured all sensors at ecu plug and all were around 1000ohm....the lights remain . On theverge of ordering a nanocom!

Hmm..yes I do think I would have discovery owners as a target given that the whole point for most owners I know is the practicality. Cargo/towing capacity and such like. This idea sounds more for small car owners who would like to be able to go somewhere a bit more challenging from time to time...

Have you tried pulling the inside door handle? That should pop the pin up as the linkage is mechanical. I believe using the key operares the electrical part (solenoid). Failure of the solenoid is not uncomon and will normally require replacement of the whole latch assemly. Good luck

Ive had slight noise ever since changing pipework. I have always suspected a pipe touching chassis or hard point somewhere but buggered if I can find it. Its definetely from ACE system too ive proven that.
