It sounds as if you want top paint something already on your vehicle. If so you are in a better position, as 6 months weathering has the same effect as the mordant. I would still use the mordant as a precaution, but you are more likely to be successful if you are not relying on it alone.

Why are you taking it so far? As I understand the rules you are allowed to drive it to and from an MOT appointment, though it needs to be reasonably close. I assume that if you are ready to MOT, then you think it would be safe on the road. Try looking for a transporter service (breakdown firm?)...

Be careful. It is probably legal to fit these, but I believe it is illegal to use them on the road. Check on this, but I think you will need to wire them to a separate switch so that you can use them at shows or whatever. Pesonally, unless you're driving a Dodge Charge, they sound a bit naff.

I agree with Kwackerman. The more substantial pins make a much better contact, so can handle higher power demand. Also the plug has a positive twist lock into the socket, so cannot fall out. Also, the design is British. We got it imposed on the rest of EU, and now it is in common use worldwide.
