Could the injector hole be blocked with molten aluminium??? Just a thought?

Where do the injector nozzle and glow plugs sit...when looking at the cylinder head from inside as in your pics...does the spray come out of one-of those holes next to the valves??? Are these where the injector or glow plug exits?

Wow that looks like some serious damage. that nut was brutal in there, and serious work to put it right, hats off to you nodge... Do all the cylinders have the right compression now? What about the piston you replaced (no. 2) was it the same length etc?? Could the head still be faulty in some way??

So why did you have to rebuild the engine/head nodge? I must have missed that part..

Try recoding them all 1st....Having just read up on piezo injectors they do sound like precision components. This could be your problem nodge....good luck dude.

Could be somert weird with the alternator I suppose, mine burnt it's coils out, smoke everywhere, but this was with engine running....Could it be the washer motor??? Ac clutch??? Just trying to think what else is down that side that would cause a buzzing noise.

You sure the noise is not the fuel pumps?? And the thud when changing gears could be a solinoid in the auto box

I once had 2 abs sensors faulty at once and my Speedo would not work?? Apparently the ecu uses the abs signals to opetate the speedo.. but my auto box was ok... There is a speed sensor in the box also, maybe this has gone faulty..But I'm sure you can test it through the connector barrel for...

What about a low wattage bulb? Should not affect injector performance too much, would it?? They should all glow at the same rate, if one glows differently, may indicate a fault on that injector.

What about a 12v bulb on each injector???

They probably just spray some cleaning fluid through them and call it a refurb.....just a thought is it worth recoding all 4 injectors again, in case something was missed???? Is this possible??

I find it usually the air con radiator that leaks, pin hole some where...pressure it up.higher and the leak soon become apparent..

How much does a freelander with a dodgy auto box sell for just out of interest..mine's a 2001 model with 145k on the clock. With a suspect cracked high/reverse piston fault.

This to me sounds like someone has changed the ecu, chasing the same fault as you are now.??

How's the oil consumption? Is yee turbo seals leaking? And are we talking FL1 td4 here?

They do have a pipe that returns to the filler pipe before the cap..maybe he ment this pipe was blocked.??

Could this be a sensor issue? Maybe one of the temp sensors telling the ecu that the engine is still cold, thus over fueling?
