This is what mine's like fix one thing then another breaks..even when the car is sat unused something will break just for fun...I also have problems with diags connecting to mine, icarsoft say the early 2001 freelander are hit n miss with diagnostics, and asked me to send their i930 back to them...

yep thats why I ask, mines on 145k and only had the 3 duty solinoids changed (which I changed) since ive had it from 2009 and now has started to slip on gear change 3 to 4 to 5... which I presume is a cracked reverse piston as its in that date range and all sympthoms point to that, but now this...

What fault sympthoms does the intermediate sensor failing cause?

And this is a 2001 (or pre facelift) model with more that one faulty abs sensor, and no amigos showing????? Just had to check for my own sanity that I wasn't going mad..This is what my dash displays with the 2 front abs sensors disconnected and handbreak down. My car still drives as normal...

He says he's getting no amigo lights with 2x faulty abs sensors according to whatever he's used to scan the vehicle, don't sound right to me... also I've disconnected both front abs sensors from the front end, and the car drove fine?? Changed gear just a smoothly as it did with them connected...

Think you need them plugged in or who knows what crazy errors you may get. You've not unplugged ya auto box have you?

Yes I agree with hippo here, fix the faulty and sensors first....although when I had 2 or more faulty abs sensors the car still drove, just the Speedo didn't move from zero and I had 2 amigo and the red handbrake lights on. There are 2 speed sensors in the box also, but unsure what faults you,d...

Sounds like what mine's doing, although I suspect it's a cracked reverse piston, by all the reading up I've been doing...how much did you get for your td4 nodge if you don't mind me asking, as I may be going down the same road as you with mine. I'm getting fed up of fixing it all the time.

With tricky, potential to snap off bolts, i usually take the car for a good run so engine nice and hot, then work on it while its toasty...things come apart more easier....and keeps you warm.

I had icarsoft for my 2000 td4 auto ES. It would not connect to anything, tried updating firmware, still nothing, sent it back for a full refund, apparently, they knew some 2000 models had problems with it.?? An ELM 327 won't connect to engine module either....is 2000 too old to be odbii compliant.

Can you access the engine control module, As you mentioned that icarsoft did not show this???

If you Still can't stop, try scraping it down the side of a wall this should do the trick. More friction to stop you..:p

If it runs ok it might just need the code clearing via diags..have you tried the old unplugging the battery for 10 mins old chestnut trick.
