    300 Tdi Rebuild

Difference is massive. There is not enough flexi exposed to flex and give a good fit with no kinks!

    300 Tdi Rebuild

65mm braided section between unions! ( approx ) yes that was awkward. Cut a piece of paper down until it fit. now here’s the real world difference between the aftermarket one and the original.

    300 Tdi Rebuild

Just been out and checked mine after finding a “spare “ new return in my shed. Turns out I did not fit the new pipe after all ( it’s been a while since I fitted the new turbo ). No kink at all on the original after scrutinising closely. The aftermarket one I have in my hand though is noticeably...

    300 Tdi Rebuild

Yep looks pretty much the same experience i had. I am a little worried the torsion of the twisting and the heat from the oil could cause it to collapse further over time. Im guessing a genuine pipe may be the best ( expensive ) option. Other than that i would have to compare the original with...

    300 Tdi Rebuild

When fitting a new turbo to mine I replaced the oil return pipe with an aftermarket one I had a similar problem. Lined old and new up and the replacement was definitely shorter think this was causing ( the slight ) kinking issue in my case for sure.

Haha! Yes I have often definitely not needed something , usually small cheap parts/fixings , before throwing them out only to find myself very much in need of them only a couple of week later  Sadly part of a never ending battle to keep shelves tidy and organised in my shed.

    Camshaft bearing tool

^ the hole for the feed also corresponds with the restriction in the head gasket interestingly. Though in need of an extra bearing due to my own carelessness I am declaring today a success! :D I’m happy I got this far to be honest.
