Nightmare....... Got up this morning with a view to having a go at fitting the a bar . Not got very far as I can't even get any of the self tappers out that hold bumper to arch liner :-(

Well if the ice and snow hold off for the weekend I'll have a go and report back Chris Long shot I know but if anyone has fitted the bar and/ or the pods and still has the template I'd happily pay for it!!

Sods law..... My car is 06/2000 Will just have to get bumper off and have a look at what im faced with!! The measurements would be great....... Or if you could do me a template brass rubbing style that would be even better!!! Chris Ps do you also have the light pods??

Yes. I thought it looked like there was a template Long shot but i might ask my local friendly dealer to see if they can assist Got the light pods to fit also and it looks as if they need a template too........ Bugger Chris

No..... It's pre facelift Looks ok on rave but can't see any measurements showing where to drill for rivnuts Chris

Picked one up cheap off fleabay with all the brackets etc. Got the fitting instructions off rave but still not 100% sure. Anyone fitted one of these got any advice. Assuming I need to use rivnuts??? Rave shows how to fit the brackets but can't understand the positioning measurements...

I stand corrected....... You are of course correct...... I haven't started it up yet...... So may be able to get a bit more in once the filter has filled up etc

6.8 litres is from dry Don't think you would get every bit of oil out just by removing sump plug. Chris

If it was a leaking injector would there be any other symptoms?

Yes it's a td4 No obvious smell of diesel and not overly thin. Will keep an eye on level over next few days / weeks

Thanks for the reassurance chaps........ Might be psychological but the engine seems to rev more freely now........ Or maybe that's just the nice clean oil!!!

Me too........ Already done the diff, ird and gearbox....... Luckily they all had the right amount of oil in them!!!!!

All I can think of is that the previous owner added more oil between me viewing it and picking it up. Thinking about it he did say he had topped up the oil cos he had lost some oil from running the car without the engine cover on and not putting the lhs screw in Well the oil level is right...

No..... 6 litres has seen it up to correct mark on dipstick

Well what came out filled a five litre empty oil container the almost filled a 4 litre one

I do check regularly. Checked it when I viewed the car and all seemed well. The oils seemed pretty clean too so I have been concentrating on other things Chris

Not had this particular freelander long and am slowly working my way through the usual suspects to get it right. Just done an oil and filter change and to my horror I've drained about 9 litres of oil out of it!!! Can't believe three were no obvious symptoms of having that much oil in it...
