Discovery 2 V8 Measure Battery Voltage using Nanocom

Wow, that's a good idea! What are the expected voltage values for: 1) ignition off 2) ignition on (motor not running) 3) motor running Any tips to detect early failure of battery and/or alternator? Thanks again!

Discovery 2 V8 Measure Battery Voltage using Nanocom

Hello, is this possible? I can't find that option in mine. Apparently this option is only available for the TD5? Really? If so, how are you guys measuring it? Using a Fluke or something like that connected directly to the battery? Thanks!

Thanks for the clarifications - I did find the gasket locally but I think I am going for the RTV option as well.

Disco 2 Noise from rear when coasting

Discovery 2 Rear Differential Removal / Replacement

Thanks for the tips - yes I did buy one of those test dial indicators, play seems fine. The blue marks are not perfect but thats what I have. My intension is to isolate the culprit - if the noise disappears (or changes) then most likely it is the diff. I have not seen gaskets for the diff - is...

Discovery 2 Rear Differential Removal / Replacement

It is not really brand new - I bought it second hand. I followed a few guides and measured "play" and also the gear imprints using that blue thing. It appears to follow the guidelines. The whole reason I am trying this debacle is here...

How far to push half shafts into diff?

Hello, How can I know "how far" to push the half shafts into the diff (rear axle)? With the diff installed, the half shafts can go all the way in - meaning it will touch the inner axle of the planetary gears. Looking the at photos with a diff disassembled we can clearly see the difference...

Discovery 2 Rear Differential Removal / Replacement

thanks - but I can that after I remove the diff from the axle right? I don’t need to do it at « step 5 » while under the vehicle?

Discovery 2 Rear Differential Removal / Replacement

Hello, I am about the exchange the rear diff on my Discovery 2 2004 - remove one, put in another one. From the workshop manual, step 5 says that the "centralizing peg" must be removed. However, the new diff coming in already has the centralizing peg / pinion. Is this step really necessary...

Disco 2 Noise from rear when coasting

Another updated, I have just received the wheel-hubs and have began installing them - I have a few questions that I posted here https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/d2-rear-wheel-hubs-are-loctite-and-or-rtv-needed-when-installing-a-new-one.395075/ for anyone to follow / help :) Thanks!

D2 Rear Wheel-hubs: are Loctite and/or RTV needed when installing a new one?

Or just the single oring that comes with the kit will do just fine? I have just disassembled mine and noticed a lot of old RTV / Silicone in the axle where the hub fits. There was also not any sign of "red loctite" on the splines of the shaft. Also, the wheel-hub kit came with some sort of...
