Header tank filling up when engine switched off-advice please

Wendy, as youve just bought it i think maybe you should start with a total system flush, and fill up with new coolant fluid.. If after this your expansion tank starts bubling again, at least youll know how long it took to lose the fluid youve just put in.. Keep an eye for any fluids leaking...

Whats the average mileage on K Series and V6 Freelander head gaskets, clutches etc ?

TD4/L series diesel is def the way to go for the freelander.. Far less problems. I wouldnt change my diesel freelander for a petrol equivalent freelander for any money.. The only thing id change on mine if i could would be to have an auto gearbox.. But the wife prefers a manual, so i litened...

Header tank filling up when engine switched off-advice please

Any abnormal readings off emperature gauge? Have you been towing anything with it after its been bubbling, or is it doing it after just a short journey? Hav you checked the coolant level when its cold? Check inside your oil filler cap for whiteish gunge deposits..

    For gods sake......

I know what you mean twin cam.. same thing happened on the wifes mondeo.. I did hear a faint squak on the way home from work this morning, but definately no drone.. Saying that, i only had a small amount of high temp grease to stick either side.. Ill nip down to halfrauds tomorrow, buy some...

    headlights

You can get HID upgrade kits on fleabay for about £170... They are the bollocks.. Expensive, but worth the investment if youre keeping the hippo for a while.... Brighter standard bulbs are an option, but in my experience they arent that much better than the usual ones..

TD4 Decat possible solution L series????

Happyhippo, How much did this cost you all in? I fancy one as my system will need doing soon, but i DONT want any stupid boy racer noises coming from it.. Friends of mine tell me that LONGLIFE exhausts can do a full stainless sytem and you can select the noise you want from 1 - 5 (1=normal...

    hippo clock display

Hi fishhead, This happened on my hippo not so long back. I had the larger multi functional screen that had the clock or radio station/cd track number displayed.. As i have an aftermarket JVC CD/MP3 fitted, the clock only ever showed the time anyway (or bits of it!!!) I bought a new...

Is it worth spending extra on leather interior and Anniversary models ?

Hiya D1ckyboy :welcome2: to the forum! Unless more experienced LR bods on here can correct me, on freelanders, i would say no.. its not worth the money.. The Anniversary freelanders are nice, but they werent made in that little of limited numbers.. theres plenty still doing the rounds, and...

    For gods sake......

No.. Pulled the pads out, they are fine, and coated the backs of them in copper grease to be safe, and they were all worn evenly. From what i can tell when driving, i THINK its coming from N/S front wheel arch, BUT its so hard to tell when driving.. the noise seems to echo around the whole...

    For gods sake......

Thanks James. The wierd thing is, it only makes the noise when im going straight ahead!! If i put even the slightest angle into the steering, the noise goes.. If i just rest me foot ever so gently on the brake pedal, it goes.. I NEVER hear the noise when cornering??? I know what your...

    2.0 XEdi lacking power.

Agree with hippo, I did it to my T plate L series and its transformed it.. I pull my daughter horse trailer 2 - 3 times a week, and the synergie transformed it!! LAODS more bottom end torque, more acceleration, and better MPG!! When not towing im averaging 39 - 42 MPG, and when i am towing, it...
