From what I can remember the oil dipsticks are different, turbo is up high on a defender so have a check on it dipstick see if it has a metal pull if it is then you got a defender 200tdi

Anyone fitted mk1 mx5 seats into a defender? I've got a pair spare and they have speakers in the headrest and my stereo is in my cubby box so would help with the where to put my speakers problem! Any problems I should be aware of?

Sorry for a bit of a hijack but I'm on subject at least! My 89 200 tdi 110 ( originally a 19j) has no fuel light and the needle works fine down to a 1/4 of a tank and then stops working :( any ideas where to start to put it all back to normal?

A bigger fuse will just goose the next weakest point in the loom which will make fault finding twice as hard!

Start her up and rev it using the injection pump under the bonnet and hold it at 3k revs and that will soon show up any pinhole leaked in the pipes, if not check every join starting at the lift pump working your way through every pipe till you get to the injectors.
