    Unbalanced Jerking Feeling

Check that the tie rod mount on the axel is attached properly and isnt cracked, I agree it sounds like something is moving when it shouldn't be!

    Tow strap for winter

Any textile lifting, lowering or pulling strap should be sold with a safety factor of x10 so a 1 tonne strap should only snap at 10 tonnes.

    Help needed bell housing bolts

The Irwin sockets are cheap enough around the 20 quid mark and worth every penny! Once you have some you will wonder how you fixed your landy without them!

    transfer box replacment

I've managed to get a second hand tbox and gbox for 150 and a mechanic friend said I can use his ramps and transmission jack and he will help for a day for 150 squid so for that kind of money i might just change everything and save splitting the two boxes and save all the arse ache. Will check...

    transfer box replacment

Excuse my ignorance but what linkage? I've been told that It will select all gears fine but when driven it revs higher and sounds like its Grindy and like something is about to fall out. I know one of the props had been replaced recently.

    transfer box replacment

Hi all, I'm off to see a disco tomorrow with a knackered transfer box so a few quick questions What's a fair price for a second hand tbox for a 300 tdi? What else should I be looking for if the tbox is shot? What is a rough time to fit a replacement on my drive? I change my clutch on...

    Cool Running 200 tdi

I've got an erbascher d1 and it's fantastic! My entire 110 is toasty warm in no time and you can run independently of the engine so you can pop out in the morning put it on back in for a cuppa and by the time you get back in it's defrosted the windscreen and everything is toasty. Uses about a...

    a little help please

This is almost what I'm after, I'm loath to call it a project but I'm happy to buy something thatneeds work to get it rrunning with an mot, ie welding sills, innerwings, bodymounts, rear arches on a rrc or a box out Job to replace a clutch fork which has pushed through. What are the usuall...

    a little help please

Cheers saint! You seem to know your salts and maybe able to help me sort through the misinformation available on the net. If I run a 3.9 on lpg fulltime is there any detrimental effects on the engine? It seem many people believe the lpg runs hotter causing premature head gasket failures and a...

    a little help please

Brilliant, thanks guys! That helps loads. I'm not bad on the spanners so working on things with nuts and bolts is no problem I've had a disco and a 110 so I'm used to landrover quirks but ecu's and sensors I only have a basic understanding and am concerned that I won't be able to diagnose and...

    a little help please

Right then it seems I have caused a bit of confusion. Ideally I would love a rrc soft dash with economy of a 200tdi as I'm sick of driving a tractor so I sold it. I have never owned a v8 on lpg so I have no idea of mpg but if you believe the internet it seems to be somewhere between 18 and...

    a little help please

Hi all, after having a disco 200 tdi and I've just sold my 110 200tdi I finally have the money to get a rangie. I know this has been asked to death but I was hoping for some serious answers. My options are 1 rrc v8 gas converted, what to people actually get mpg from gas and what are the major...

    trapped air?

Anyone interested it turned out to be my wheel cylinder, it was leaking fluid into the dust seal but not into the drum letting a tiny air bubble back in when the piston returned in. I also replaced the snail cams as I was in there and that helped to give a much more defined adjustment.

    Finding a replacement defender.

Buy a galv chassis and build your own to suit what you need, it's only a ballache if you can't afford to buy new parts and have to make old bits fit. Go for it! If you have a garage or a barn then it's easy enough. Wouldn't fancy doing it on a drive. The benefits of building your own will out...

    trapped air?

You know what i might change the bleed nipples, on my t4 couldn't get clutch to get a pedal and after lots of trial and error it turned out to be letting in air through the thred! Got to be worth a go for less than a skin diver

    trapped air?

With the rears clamped brakes are poor, with the fronts clamped they are better, so rear are fine and it would suggest that air is stuck in the fronts but they have been bled extensively with the engine running, facing uphill, jacked up on each side with a pressure bleeder and I have pumped the...
