    Fao Thomas Boland

Does anyone know his username? I have managed to contact banned user Andrewc23 who was breaking that disco about a part that was overdue, I now believe the matter has been resolved. In his email to me about the bits he asked me to see if you can be contacted as I believe you are still owed...

    300 Tdi Gearbox Swap Out

Not sure if its in the kit, but the spigot bearing in the end of the crank is worth doing while its apart. Especially if the gearbox is out the way.

    Door stuck locked!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have freed it. The rod that connects the door lock to the barrel lock was bent, stopping it from disengaging properly, a prod with a screw driver to free the lock and straightening out the rod has resulted in an opening door.

Have you lost the wheel balance weights?

    Door stuck locked!

There's no denying it, defenders really do have innovative ways to make your life difficult! Todays issue is that the drivers door is locked shut. No amount of fiddling the locks inside or out will make the damn thing open. The barrel in the door turns with the key, the internal lock moves up...

    90 defender rebuild

Nice to see time spent doing the prep work, and a bit of care. Half the resprayed defenders I have seen just seem to have paint thrown at them from 10 yards! This makes me want to give mine a refresh.

Take everything off! Be a damn site more aerodynamic without a windscreen! Is there a legal requirement to actually have front doors?

Is the 2.4 Puma a better road Defender than TD5?

You'll be throwing the same cash at a puma later on it its life as the same bits will wear, rust and fall off. with the added bonus of failing electronics, sensors and the stuff associated with modern engines. This is why I'm sticking with my 300tdi. Though I do like the way the td5's go and...

Tall 4 bolt flange, or 24 spline diff with 4 bolt flange complete

Good evening. I am after a tall 4 bolt flange or whole diff. I bought a 3 bolt diff hoping to just transfer the flanges across to fit my defender, but clearly the 4 bolt flange is a lot shorter. Thanks.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Had the biggest bloody battle with one of the bolts holding the a frame balljoint forging to the a-frame in order to replace the balljoint. 2 hours of swearing, heating and gradually finding bigger hammers and bars to defeat it. Oh, and removing bits of the vehicle to improve access for the...

    Rear diff drive flange

I already have a 4 bolt prop on the vehicle. I bought the diff as mine is in poor order, and the 3 bolt diff was local so took a chance and bought it, so was hoping to just bang the 4 bolt flange on it with minimum fuss. Bugger it, will see if my 4 bolt flange is long or short, and if it isn't...

    Rear diff drive flange

Right, I may sound like a pillock but why would this necessitate a prop change. Will it shorten it too much due to spacing it out? I have a 300tdi defender, not a 200.

    Rear diff drive flange

Sorry to drag this one up again, but to clarify. I want to fit a 300tdi 4 bolt discovery flange to a 300tdi 3 bolt diff, Will I need a spacer? This is for my defender by the way. Having just won the battle of removing the flange I need to know before pulling the flange of the vehicle to do...

Doing the impossble? Cummins 6BT into a 90!

Minis have no problem getting insured with a vtec's, bike engines and all sorts of other things, so as long as your with a specialist that deals in modified vehicles you should be ok. With my mini, they were only concerned about power increase rather then what was actually in there.

    Blue smoke and bio diesel

I think bio diesel is harder to ignite until the engine is warm so a lot of it ends up unburnt when cold. Go back to diesel and I bet the problem goes away. As long as its not smoking when warm I wouldn't worry.
