How defeated are we!! Bleeding air from Rad

You can easily fool yourself into thinking it isn't warped but for what it costs and once you've got it stripped, may as well make a proper job and get the head pofessionally checked and skimmed if required - you can then sleep at night!

How defeated are we!! Bleeding air from Rad

If your in it for the long haul with the disco, Nev, then you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it and all the f***ing about will still be less dosh than depreciation on a new one! I curse mine on occassions but I still get loads of pleasure from it in return.

How defeated are we!! Bleeding air from Rad

The worst part is that the 300tdi is usually such a bloody good reliable workhorse! Mine had done 155k when it happened - my son visited and borrowed it - yeah, you can guess he got 100k down the road AND!!!!!! He still feels bad about it! Good excuse to do the timing belt and fit new pulleys...

    lay up for a while

Planning on laying up my 300tdi for a short while (3 months or so) till weather improves and I can get some work done on it. It'll be stood outside, on grass. Any tips/advise as to best way to do this? (Obviously, battery will be disconnected) thanks!

waltz it back to the stealer and tell them it just aint working and to fix it under warranty. You paid money in good faith! Advise them that they are not to fit any new parts until you've approved it. Gives you time to check on here if its bullsh*t you're being fed!

    please help grinding noise!!!

Good find! One thing is for sure - it has to be repaired and after that you'll soon see if it has cured the noise. If you've never done one before, best drop the shaft and get it done. Mark the shaft relationships before dropping off as the shaft is phased.

    please help grinding noise!!!

If its just first thing in the morning and not every time you set off could be light rust on the disc and the noise of the pad removing it. Surprising how quickly a film of rust builds up. Mine does it when its been parked up for a few days especially in the wintery weather.
