    Freelander 1 1.8 K-series re-map

Hi Nic No, unfortunately not - the think that would be part of the software settings and I don’t think is user adjustable? I may be wrong: if it can be adjusted by yearbook, then it ought to be do-able via pscan…

    Freelander 1 Auto 1.8

Hopefully this is going smoothly Philip? I’d get the gearbox/driveshafts in the right location and worry about the engine mount later. Remember too that there are a plethora of K16 engine mount designs for different vehicles - so if the Freelander one doesn’t line up, then an engine mount for a...

    Freelander 1 Rust...

I've conveniently forgotten to look at this in any more detail - all my old cars are demanding my attention at once, the blighters! Must take another look and see how deep under the surface any corrosion goes... Thanks for the reminder @MollyNomad :D

    Freelander 1 Auto 1.8

I need to do this to mine too! :( Nice bit of fabrication - where did the material come from?

    Freelander 1 Auto 1.8

Yes - and of course the MEMS for the steptronic has more output channels. I think I have the MEMS part number codes somewhere…

    Freelander 1 Auto 1.8

Very true. Might require a steptronic ready MEMS3?

    Freelander 1 Auto 1.8

Nice new project car Philip! Looks like the welder will be getting some use though. why can’t you keep the existing MEMS3 ECU and get SAWS to do a custom map to interface with the Jatco ECU?

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Watched Harry’s Garage (and Harry’s Farm) YouTube channel on JCB and their work on hydrogen ICE. Equally interesting discussion in the comments section…

    VCU Torque test results

It generally wouldn't be warm if the front and rear axles are generally turning at the same speed, but it would potentially get warmer if there were a lot of corners (but I doubt these silicone devices ever really get that hot!)

Borderline - keep an eye on it is my opinion.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Very interesting - I have a few old batteries lying around - would live to get them restored!

What have you done to your Freelander today

What is a “re-emf” charger? Sounds interesting.

Haha! Yes, very true! I haven’t done this yet, but a very neat mod :)

Freelander 1 Euro 6 conversion? Charge?

Scrappage schemes are just generally a bad idea, but it does get some cars off the road (and often these have been vehicles that enthusiasts might have wanted to save, with plenty of good life left in them). What the scrappage scheme isn't is environmentally friendly. The carbon released in...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Thanks - it took a couple of iterations, but printing a 20mmx25mmx25mm cube with a 15mm base seems to be doing the job quite well. I'll post some photos and share the file if anyone else needs it :) [It's only a money saving idea if you already happen to have access to a 3 printer! LOL]

MGF mirror mod is the single best mod on my FL1 so far :) It should have been like this from factory for the 3 door.

Freelander 1 Euro 6 conversion? Charge?

I suspect that the Elizabeth line planning is completely unrelated, but fits with an environmental narrative that coincidentally works well for the Mayor ;) A website would be a good idea - and perhaps in conjunction with the classic car movement?

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

You probably won’t do the mileage to seriously worry the transmission, but if there were any other reason to open up the gearboxes, then I’d fit upgraded steel caged bearings (if they’re not already - they do tend to be on TDi engines)
