Nah all I've done is spun that one wheel while watching the driveshaft. It could be the output flange I guess... If i had been clever I would have spun the other wheel to make sure it was the diff/flange that was at fault. Can't check the specifics until 18th May though (which is when I finish...

My old man's got a 130... Was talking to him about the new defender the other week and he said he liked it insofar as it'd help keep the Land Rover name alive, but he wouldn't sell his old workhorse for it. And I agree. I've always wanted to buy a brand new defender... but not the new model!

Ah, but like you said, if it's a question of money, a lift costs £££, a camel cut is free ;)

Nice. I guess my point is just that if whatever you're doing means that you have to have a 2" lift, then it would probably help to have lockers instead. If you're doing something where you don't need lockers, you probably don't need a lift. Tyres, always, but not a lift.

You didn't get +2" shocks for the rear? :confused: Fair enough, but I still think the locker gives you more offroad ability that the flashy bits people stick on their cars (including lifts)

Well my experience has been quite different. I'll grant you that lockers don't help if you ground out, but they help if one of your tyres is off the ground, and one of the tyres on the other axle is spinning, or some such circumtance A 2" lift will cost, what, £300 on the cheap, £800 with...

If your concern is ripping up a greenlane, then surely it's better to have locking diffs which prevent wheelspin (unless all the wheels are spinning) than having massive grippy tyres which can spin freely as soon as they lose traction and will tear up the ground? I mean I guess if you just...
