slack in the transmission?:confused: can it cause problems or is it just a harmless thud cos i can live with that. hasnt bothered me so far

i also have this and have had since buying the disco 12 months ago, biglad this happens to me when am changing direction ie D to Reverse or R to D but not from D to 1,2,3 etc i assumed it was normal, gears engaging etc. i find that the 'thud' is worse when the engines warm as its a quieter thud...

sorry should have mentioned front headlamps, i had heard that they are a little better than the 300 headlamps for visibility (and for looks in my opinion). it doesnt make sense to me either why ppl pinch em but just heard of a few instances..quick buck i suppose theres not much holding them in...

hi guys, im after a set of disco 2 lights pre 2003 off the early td5 to fit to my 300 disco 1. does anyone know where i can get them cheap? cheapest ive found is simmonites £80 +vat. im weary of ebay as i know these are choice pickings for dirty tea leaves plus they aint that cheap on there...

95/M 300tdi auto 140,000 miles i believe it had an engine change bout 15k back, new engine had roughly 80k on it :)

thanks waldershelf and trax, looks like waxoyl it is then. not lookin forward to the mess. is it worth drilling any holes in the chassis to spray it in there or is that a big no no. what happens when you heat it up trax? does it become more plyable?
