if your battery is fully charge just put the negative jump lead from the earth on the battery to the engine block. That will give a direct earth to your starter. We had this exact problem on an lt35. it was a corroded earth strap that went from the body to the gearbox.

you should never put a gasket against powder coatings. either mask it off, sand it off or stanley knife it away. A lot of people say you shouldn't powder coat things like axles because it just chips off but i've never seen one done so it would be interesting to see how it lasts.

are you sure the battery is fully charged?

if they damaged the first one why did they continue to do the same to the others. even if there was some kind of bead lock, once they'd seen the first one they should of been able to work out what to do. I can't wait to see the pictures.

Taking the bulbs out will solve it but i would suggest finding out why they are on and fixing the real problem.
