Most common problem is the ends of the pipes split just follow them from the actuator on the offside inner wing and either trim them back or replace the pipes

You have to take them out of the skirt, a little bolt (or screw) each side and pop out the ball joint at the top, one of mine had an earth come off the lamp which stopped it working.

The converter is wired into the speaker wires on an aftermarket head unit then the rear door subwoofer connector is then plugged into the converter to retain the use of the rear door subwoofers. to use an personal cd payer or even better a mp3 player you could use one of these adapters...

What you need is a high to low level speaker converter, there several different types/designs around. This retains the use of the subs in the rear door with an aftermarket head unit.
