Yes.... Pedal switch is closed when pressed and vice versa for the servo switch - feed to pedal switch is permanent live when ign on

    Brake light circuit

Right, an update. First, if you think the UKs a ****hole, go to Greece. Had a go at the brake light issue from scratch today, The fuse is good, the the switch is good. 12 volts in from the hot side, continuity from the open side.. It all looked good on the voltmeter, but still,no brake lights...

I reckon you’re right. Might pull the whole thing and replace with trailer wire.

    Brake light circuit

Right. Power restored at brake pedal switch, problem was in the fuse box, a combo of a **** ton of Sahara dust I hadn’t removed and fuse pin terminhale a bit wide making an intermittent contact. Switch at pedal operates circuit when activated, so that’s fine, but no power at the brake lights, so...

    Brake light circuit

Guages etc ok, similarly, am wondering if there’s a bad connection where the power wires for the brake switch are connected into the main feed from the battery……

    Brake light circuit

Mine is non servo so only switch is behind da pedal. Can’t understand how there’s not voltage at the wires attaching to the pedal switch. Stumped ☹️

    Brake light circuit

It’s a 76 series 3, brake switch behind brake pedal, no servo. I can see that the failure switch is wired to a wee lamp on the dash, so that would make sense!

    Brake light circuit

That’s the bit I mean, the switch on the brake pipe, would that be part of the brake light circuit? Looks to me like it’s wired into the same fuse as the brake switch behind the pedal. Am wondering if it’s stuck

    Brake light circuit

I’ve replaced that….(mine is non servo)

    Brake light circuit

Can anyone tell me if the brake pressure actuator electrical connection forms part of the brake light circuit? I‘ve got no rear brakes or power at the brake pedal switch so am wondering if the actuator connection is knackered opening the circuit,. Fuses all fine.

    Handbrake rods

An Update : it turns out that the top and bottom plunger rods were attached to the same side of the plate when they should be opposite! A quick turn around and researing on the grooved rod behind and all is well. How that happened I'll never know. Pictures showing the correct alignment

    Handbrake rods

Ah, right, that’s interesting. Didn’t know the button was adjustable, its pretty solid on mine, that might well be the trouble, will investigate tomorrow👍

    Handbrake rods

Yes, that was the first thing I tried, no give in them at all. Am considering a spot weld.... Although I still can't work out why the rods would have separated in the first place.

    Handbrake rods

I’ve got a new and much vexing conundrum…..the rods in the handbrake lever circled in red, have started popping out, there’s a wee metal plate not shown, with two holes to hold them in place. It can be manually fixed by twiddling the rods until they catch, buts it’s becoming a P In da A on hills...
