my safari one got bent out at 90 degrees when my defender had a lie down in a very verdant hedge somewhere in mid wales. it popped back into shape when I got back on all 4 wheels, the same could not be said for the roof  I think the mantecs and safaris of this world can take the knocks...

    Most Stolen?

are you seriously trying to tell me that a P38 is worth more than a defender when both are stripped? set of decent doors for my 110csw is over £500

    Most Stolen?

defenders are targeted because they are high value, easy to strip for parts, demand exceeds supply and REALLY easy to get into. the other LR offerings tend to have been designed in the last 20 years and therefore have such modern wonders as door locks that cant be opened with a lolly pop stick (...

    Worker shortage........... need a job

Britain is suffering from the same problem it always had, people who are willing to do a job that requires them to get their hands dirty are looked down on - be it sparky or cnc setter, Britain has always undervalued its craftsmen. saying that, you try to get people to take on apprentices (...

Have you told you insurance company about your modifications?

I always declare - as has been said do not give the bastards any room to wriggle out of paying up when you need it; just imagine, you are going merrily down the road and some dopey tosser pulls out on you at the last minute, you side beam it causing massive destruction to the little hatchback -...

    winch security

fact of the matter is that no machine likes to sit idle, they all need use - ask anyone who's bought a "lifestyle" disco and then tried to engage the diflock. and again I've done cheapy chinese winches (2 off em) and had little luck with either, so I bit down on it and picked up an ex tow truck...

    Insa tyres

pretty good for a remould, mine came with a set of new ones, but were pretty good in the snow last year, but less good on ice - but then even the BFG AT's I had on the previous disco were none to hot on bare ice. saying that, when they go I'll be swapping them for either KM2's or Cooper STT's
