    The Best Ever Land Rover?

I took my 90 into a car park and only realised how close the barrier was when half way through. Think it was marked at 6'6" but I guess it was a little higher and I just got through after scraping the top coat of paint off me roof! It was when I came to coming back out that I realised there were...

    Isuzu 3.1 conversion for Defender

Don't know anything about fitting them but I would say to anybody to stay well clear of the later 3 litre common rail Trooper engines. They had loads of power and were great on the road but as my brother and many like him found out to their cost, they could go pop in a very expensive way at any...

PLEASE HELP!! Vandals on the loose

Gordon Brown been seen in your area lately? Sorry, that's wrong! He loves them! Think of all that tax!

    Shakin' all over...

I hope you cure it Matty! I've been having similar problems with my 90 and found my front prop had a knackered UJ but replacing the shaft (I broke the yoke replacing- doh!) has only reduced the shaking but not stopped it. My local independant landy garage suggested I have a very close look at...

Seat Belt or NO seat belt

I have to say that being young enough to be brought up with seat belts being a necessity, it does feel mighty strange to get into my 2a and not get strapped in. Can't help but feel slightly vulnerable and a series 2 bulkhead does not look fun to smash your teeth into! Being too lazy to look...

    90 hardtop?

Think the rear door would fit though, but then I think a lot of things!

    90 hardtop?

The series 3 windscreen is different to the the 90 which I would guess is a little bit higher so I doubt the hardtop would fit without a bleeding great hole. But then who's landrover doesn't have the odd draft here an there?

Seat Belt or NO seat belt

That's the sensible answer! What the law say though? Bet there is nonsense there!

Seat Belt or NO seat belt

My 1965 2a does not have seat belts, but it dos have a MOT. What I would like to know is what is the law with children and those boosters seats when no belts are fitted? My 3 year old nephew is obsessed with my landy but I darn't take him out in it!

    Defender - Fold-down windscreen?

Some years ago we took the top off my brothers s111 swb but left the screen in place. Problem we found that once you got some speed up on the open road, the wind turbulence coming over the screen would pick up all the dust and crap out of the rear tub and it would end up in your eyes- not so...

    Wibbly Wobbly Wand Wover

Got a 1985 ex mod 90. After previously being well behaved on the road, a year ago it developed serious steering wheel judder between 40 and 50 mph - feckin marvellous in those 50mph zones that are appearing everywhere now! Assuming that the wheels were out of balance we took them to be sorted...

    Defender - Fold-down windscreen?

My ex mod 90 has a hinged screen and I'd been thinking about folding it down so I can shoot some pwesky bunnie wrabbits. However, it is fitted with a hard top and although I've yet to try it, I think that the screen has to go up at the top as it rotates around the hinge point and I think that...

LPG conversion on a series III

The is a s111 swb on my local shoot that is LPG and seems to run fine. Only problems with it are that the tank takes up nearly half the tub (mounted against the rear bulkhead) and it smells a little funny but probably better than the usual whiff of petrol. Prehaps I could say it smells a little...

    how far have you been???

If you are looking for any sand tyres, Witham Specialist Vehicles had some the other day that were ex MOD but unused. Can't remember the make but think they were about £60 each. No expert on desert driving (or anything actually) but I would take a vice along to assist with any repairs...

    S11a Indicator

Just got myself a 1965 s11a swb petrol. All seems nice and original and working well apart from the rear left hand side indicator. The bulb is fine but I can't find any power getting to the bulb holder. Where physically on the vehicle is the feed split between the front indicator (which is...

Series IIA Petrol 3.0 Litre Ford engine

That's the one! Although thinking about it, it may not have been scaffold but a length of stainless "borrowed" from the the old milking parlour! The s111 ended up being traded in part exchange for my dads isuzu trumper and my brother has regretted letting it go ever since. He has though offered...

Series IIA Petrol 3.0 Litre Ford engine

My brother had a s111 with a 2.5l v6 which he blew up and replaced with a 3litre v6. One word- Fantastic! Power, speed, noise (the nice sort), pops on overun complete with blue flames out the exhaust and it even returned better mpg than his old 2.25 petrol. What was even better was that it was...
