    New Clutch Slip

Oh dear! I've just fitted a new clutch to my 90 and it seems to be slipping a little. Do new clutches need a bit of use to bed them in? There is a bit of a "whiiiizzzz" noise as the clutch pedel is released and drive is taken up and it will then generally drive ok but with the odd slip and whizz...

    Soild Clutch Pedal

Cheers discomania, you were spot on! http://www.landyzone.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=7799&cat=500&ppuser=6821 The release fork was worn through on the pivot. Fitted a new clutch while I was in there- not a lot left on the friction plate, release bearing knackered and the spigot...

    Soild Clutch Pedal

Thanks Discomania, sounds like good advice! I've took off the slave cylinder (keep thinking of Mr. Slave on Southpark-eurghh) and found that the release fork is pushed right to the back of its travel, so far that I can't even touch it. Something is obviously very wrong in there but can't find my...

    Soild Clutch Pedal

Afternoon all! My dear brother has managed to knacker the works 90 which is a 1986 ex mod with a 2.5 na. He tried to change gear but only got as far as neutral as the clutch pedal went solid and felt more like the brake pedal and so now will not disenaged the clutch. Guessing the linkage was at...

So What is it with Series landies

On one of the first decent hot sunny fridays of the year, I pulled into a petrol station. Filling up there was; an old fat bald man in a gold volvo convertable with the roof down, an old fat bald man in a dark blue Bentley convertable with the roof down, and me, a young fat hairy man in an old...

    Soaking wet in North Yorkshire.

Hi there, been out in the rain myself today, over an inch in an hour and I didn't have a roof on! It certainly leaked! My old college chief mechanic always said to get your hands clean by inviting the inlaws over after you've made them a plum crumble or homemade bread that you've kneeded by hand.

    Indicator indicator bulb

Av just got back from town in the pouring rain with no roof on but I was still smiling cause av got me self a new bulb. The good fellow at Auto Electrical supplied me with a Lucas LLB643 12V 2.2W 030 for 70p which does the job and I also got an original Lucas indicator for a fiver. Martha...

    LR seats, help!

Thanks but I'm not desperate to know, just trying to fill my head with more useless information to bore the girlfriend with in case I need to kill off a conversation. Or something.

    Indicator indicator bulb

Cheers clivees! Just had a look though my parts manual but it makes no reference to it there, I guess they were an optional extra.

    Indicator indicator bulb

Does anyone know what bulb should be fitted inside the indicator switch mounted on the steering colomn on a S2a to tell you when your driving around with an indicator on like you're an old woman? Mine's not there and don't know what size bulb it should be. Cheers

I was stuggling to breath once after half a mile but then I was pushing a landrover that was suffering a "starting malfunction". I know what your on about though, even with the screen up I need a hat to keep my hair out my eyes not to mention my girlfriends long locks flailing about like a...

    Topless!

While I'm here, when I took my door tops off the rust was so bad that threads into the doors sheared off. Any tips for getting them out before I try to fit new door tops at the end of the summer?

    Topless!

I found that when I folded down my windscreen, at about 35 mph I lost all my tax discs as they were blown out the holder. Of course i picked up the old ones straight away but took ten minutes to find the current one whick had found its way down a drain grate but by luck a spider web had kept it...

    LR seats, help!

Is there more room behind the seats in a lwb than a swb? Seem to remember that the fuel filler pipe on the lwb is infront of the rear bulkhead (for a front fitted tank) but on a swb it is in the tub behind the bulkhead. Does that mean you can fit a bulkier seat in the lwb?

    Welder

I use an inverter stick welder. Cost somewhere £200-400 (vague I know) and it will weld from 0 to 150 amps from a normal 3 pin 13 amp socket and it's not much bigger than a toaster. Got it from Spaldings who supply us miserable farmers with stuff, think it is one of Lincoln Electrics. You...

    Leaf spring referb

I reckon LRO did an article on it about a decade ago and they took the spring apart and used graphite grease between each leaf.
