In search of a stainless hawse fairlead

I thought you could only use a hawse with plasma rope. First four do one.

    Towing with reciever hitch

I use a 2" receiver for occasional towing. I like the arrangement, but as said above its illegal on newer landies. it should look like this.

    Recovery set up

I'd get a 4m rated nylon rope from extreme4x4. Had mine for a few years now and its been great 9/10 its all I've needed. After that I'd buy a 2m strop for a bridle or tree saver. After that I'd buy a kinetic. Extreme4x4 sell the receiver setup which I've found d to be excellent. Safari equip...

    Recovery set up

Jates. They do the job but a 2" receiver setup is loads better. Given the jates position you better be sure a rope is connected before you get stuck! Front. Sounds like a good idea. 2 points allow a bridle setup to spread load too. Rope. Ropes every time. Much better than strops as they...

    Dinitrol vs Waxoyl vs ???

dinitrol definately. i just got my local landie garage to do a deal. i bought the dinitrol stuff (about £100) of the various types and then they steamed my chassis off on their external lift, let it dry overnight, and then applied the stuff id given them the next day. £80 done, result.

Which battery should I connect a winch to

Really good explanation. Thanks for that :) Also agree that the winch should definately be connected to the AUX battery; but to be sure you wont burn out the tmax relay it would need to be upgraded. Lots of variables however, and just because a winch can draw 400a load doesnt mean it will...

Which battery should I connect a winch to

quite right, but he will have the engine running when winching.

Which battery should I connect a winch to

I believe if you have 2 batteries in parallel connected to each other any load placed on it will be transferred by both batteries. Hence the winch load will be satisfied by both the aux and starter batteries when the relay has them connected. The issue therefore being you may destroy a relay not...

Which battery should I connect a winch to

Just remember that the winch load will be passing thru that tmax relay which might not be upto the job. A winch at full load might be pulling 400a +

Land Rover 90 transfer box issues

Sounds like the centre diff is destroyed. From Dave@Ashcroft I have checked the adjustment but it won't come out of diff lock. Why?This is often reported after recent off roading, the centre diff is there to allow the props to turn at different speeds when cornering to stop drivetrain wind...
