    lpg conversion

Whatever you do, you need a certificate from the installer (or if you get it done yourself you need to get it certificated by an "LPGA" authorised place) for your insurance company so as to not invalidate your insurance - oh, and you need to not forget to actually tell your insurance company! Blue Metalic Bonnet and Doors

There is a sticker (or plate - can't remember now) under the bonnet that will tell you your exact colour code which you can then look up on the Internet. All metallic paints have a "plastic coat" as you put it - it's a clear lacquer to make the underlying metallic paint glossy because metallic...

    Tyre Advice Requested

Sorry - missed that bit! I'm pretty sure GG do MT's as well. I think I bought mine from Paddocks - excellent service and a good price. Check out the website or Landy mags. Matt

    p38 wheel wobble

The P38 is very sensitive to its tyres for some reason. I had mine balanced several times to try and eliminate wheel wobble. Only went away when I got a new set of tyres. I guess you've checked all the bushes. Matt

    Manual inflation system

It taps into the air lines for each air spring allowing you to pump the springs up independently (with a standard foot / electric tyre pump). There are a few different systems around, but the one I've seen runs in parallel with the existing setup meaning you can inflate the springs if your EAS...

    changing to an aftermarket stereo?

I've lost my version of RAVE, but as I recall the HK [well known audio co.] system has amps in both doors and a sub in the boot. It's not all about making it louder, but better quality. If you can send an un-amplified signal to the amps and have the signal amplified just before it gets to the...

    Tyre Advice Requested

BF's are widely regarded as the best - but pricey! I had a set of General Grabber AT2's on my P38 and was very impressed all round. About half the price of the BF's. Good on-road, no noticeable increase in road noise over the old road tyres and worked well in the mud too. Never did anything...

    lack of power

Paraffin might work better (cheaper and easily available in large containers!) but as I said, just make sure you get rid of any fumes. I think there are a few sites describing the procedure on the web last time I looked - a quick Google will soon find them I'm sure. Matt

    A bit slippy

Why the f*** were these people going out on roads like that?? Especially as they clearly had no driving skill. I wouldn't like to be the insurance assessor on that job! Matt

    lack of power

Pertol? Gulp!! White spirit is probably safer! Make sure you dry it out completely before re-assembly and that any fumes from the cleaner have been blown out ( a hair dryer is useful for that!) Matt

    Viscous ?

200 & 300 series Disco's have centre locking diffs as standard. Disco II (i.e. Td5 on) have a centre diff, but no locking facility as standard (they consider the 4-wheel traction control good enough) You can buy kits to lock these diffs, but after 2002 they removed the ability to lock the...

    Td5 Ecu

Are you new to the vehicle? The Td5 does lack power below 1500 - it is the "way there are" and it is apparently quite common when you first start driving one to stall it often! If you are new to it, I'd suggest trying out another Td5 and seeing if it is the same or not - give you a better idea...

    Advice needed

I've been looking at Td5's in that price range! Maybe a bit higher mileage, but you get the point by now I'm sure! Check eBay for the going rates - it's usually a good indication of how much things sell for. If they don't have a bid by the end of the auction then they are over priced! Matt

    Blue Metalic Bonnet and Doors

Another good evening's entertainment as ever - Thanks Yella! Someone certainly saw him coming! Why one earth wouldn't you check on eBay first to check out the going rate?? - made worse by the fact they he's obviously aware of buying/selling parts on eBay as that is where he's chosen to dispose...

More info... Range Rover head unit fitting kits Seems it is possible with a suitable wiring kit.

    changing to an aftermarket stereo?

All depends on the model you have. The HSE / DHSE has the Harmon Kardon system with the amps, subwoofer - other models don't so you can just plug whatever you like into them! I have to say I haven't tried it but as I understand it, if you have the HK system, you can't just change the head...

    Extended warranty

Tend to agree with Clutchdust. 3rd party warranties tend to put clauses in such as you having to have it serviced more regularly than the service schedule for you to remain covered - if you fall foul of these clauses they won't pay out. If you insist on using someone else, Warranty Direct is...

    Range won't start!

If you battery has died it might be because it was simply kaput! Just re-charging it does not mean that it will have enough power to start the vehicle. The clicking is classic of a knackered battery not pumping out enough amps to get the starter going. If you read the battery voltage...

Discovery TD5 lacks guts at around 15 to 18 100rmp....Need help!!!

Actually, a very good specialist I used to go to said that I should give the P38 (diesel) a good blast now and again as it does them good to blow out the crud! - so you're not far wrong! Matt
