I opted for the HD steering bar and drag link , I got a new ome steering dampener and a new ball joint for the drop arm .. Thought as I’m doing it ... I was just a bit concerned about keeping the steering straight when I take off the drag link , Did you have any issues with that ?

surething .. with the drag link is that pretty straight forward , since Ive owned the defender I have found even the simplest of jobs have a habit of getting to be a bit of a faff...

I didnt really want to start taking stuff apart just to empty out some grease , especially when its not broken lol ... Im not sure when they were last done , I had thought about putting half in each , my worry was over filling them and blowing the seals or causing some other problem .. is...

the new defender is the exact type of car , that made me want to buy a defender .. I wanted no tech , no stupid electrics , I wanted to be able to fix it myself and didnt want to buy another car ..lol... Think they have lost the plot with the new defender ...

yeah mine is 1998 td5 , limited edition 50 year anniversary ... it is good condition , I dont mind maintaining it to keep it good , its just that in about 4 years time im buying a bigger boat , and is likely I will need to cash-in on the landy , which is a shame as we really love her ...

i am guessing that it is the same problem , I have just seen a kit like to mention on eBay .. think the other problem is access to the unit , some have posted about removing the whole wing to do the switch .. :(
