I have found some HD galvanised steel doors which are meant to be a lot stronger , I think that I will opt for one of these , I will prep, spray and fit it myself , shouldn't be an issue .. good to know about the brit part one tho ( i guess it don't have moving parts ) I am still debating...

its likely that id fit one at a later date .. it just that the door I have seen doesn't come with it ... On mine the wiring loom for the high mount brake is run round the inside of the door frame not sure if this was factory as I have seen ones which attract to the element on the glass ...

ok , little update today I took off the door card to inspect the bk door , :( it pretty bad tbh , looks like there had been previous attempts to weld the door back together , it has broken through at the top where the wiper is , broken at the bottom , one of the cross members is broken ...

oh , ok , I hadn't used T wash before , so id clean the surface , use T wash wait till it turns colour , rinse off and let dry , then prime does that sound about right ...

The other thing I hadn’t thought about is painting over a galvanised door .. ?? Done a bit of painting in the past, but I have never painted anything galvanised? , now if I bought a galvanised steel farms and skin door , is it going to be a pain to prime and paint , over an alu skin door ...

that’s good to know .. I’m pretty sure that mine is it’s original door and has lasted 22 years with a wheel hanging off it .. so I’d like to think that a new galvanised door would last a fair while .. Tho I do like the look of the swing away now I’ve been looking at them ..

Just to update the thread .. Fitted the new suspension, and went for a quick drive , then checked the heights and the difference seems negligible, so hopefully all is well .. I have noticed that she is sitting higher more so in the rear , when compared the rear springs it was clear to see...

I have just seen , a new galvanised bk door , with Galvanised steel skin , which is meant to be much stronger than the standard door , just thinking would this door be fine with the wheel directly fitted on the door as its of a more robust construction ? the standard door prob had the spare...

I will have a look at them , one I havnt seen ...

Hello all .. a little follow on from my bk door post , I have decided to get the weight of the spare off the bk door , think one of these swing away's would be a good idea ...? which ones are good , which are bad ? , are the brit-part one awful ?? are the Raptor ones worth the extra money...
