    Happier now

I had the vibration and kangaroo effect on my rangerover, the kangaroo feeling was most noticable at lower speeds and under load such as accelarating up a hill,it seemed to clear at about 30mph.It turned out to be one of the joints on the front propshaft. Its easy to get under it and check, park on...

    1993 classic, only RWD???

Mines a manual and the landrover part number for the classic 200tdi gearbox is the same as the discovery 200tdi so in theory if i swap transfer boxes + high/low selector mech which is bolted to box i should be in business:cool:

    1993 classic, only RWD???

Thats an interesting one there Fett,I didn't think that could happen but i'll have to look more into how a viscous coupling should work.I was always under the impession it either failed and lost all drive or siezed.I'm going to fit a discovery box with the manual difflock insted.

    1993 classic, only RWD???

My viscous has siezed and i could feel it when driving on road especially when cornering,I removed the front prop and i'm using it as rwd at the moment as i don't want to risk damaging the front diff/shafts.The other sign was it started wearing the front tyres badly on the inner edges which is a...

    Quick T-box question.

The classic transfer box ratio 1.206:1 high on petrol + diesels as far as i can see.

    Ahh crap!

The fuel pipes going to and from the sender unit are hard plastic with a union heat shrunk into the ends,i changed the sender on my 200tdi classic a few months back as the small return pipe had rusted through and was filling the well on top of the tank with fuel which was then blowing back and...

    92 disco transfer box removal?

That looks a very similar setup on your td5 to the old disco type, after looking around its going to be easyer for me to buy a gearbox/transfer box complete rather than the transfer on its own so i might as well drop the lot again:doh:

    92 disco transfer box removal?

I've had the box out a few years ago to do the clutch and it was a crappy job due to the weight,I can see where your comming from though,do i take twice as long struggling to do it in place or struggle with the weight of the whole lot again.Looks like i've got a no win situation:doh:

    Oh no!!! HGF or paranoia

Thats what i was thinking too,I'd re fit the viscous fan or get an electric version fitted as you won't be doing your motor any favours in this hot weather.

    Oh no!!! HGF or paranoia

There could still be some air in the system so i wouldn't panic too much yet,When you say the viscous fan has been removed i'm assuming you've fitted a replacement electric fan insted?

Steering, believe it or not, on a Classic!

Thats the exact problem i was having before i removed the front prop, check the inside edges of the front tyres for any unusal ware as this can also be an early sign

    RRC Viscous coupling

I've had to remove my front prop last week as the viscous unit had siezed (suprise suprise).I've been offered another coupling by a friend who says its ok but don't really fancy taking a chance. Is there any way to test a unit thats removed from the box,and also can anyone recommend the best...

The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

Just like the brake caliper seals/retainers for my classic, got an OE seal kit and it flew back together with no probs. It was an Ebay caliper overhaul kit of pistons + seals/retainers.the pistons were fine (not Britpart) but the seal kit (britpart) was impossible to fit.

My props been off some time ago and has been re-fitted with the joint at the front,I seem to rememeber reading somthing maybe an earlyer post on here that the joint should be at the back.I'm changing the uj's in the next few days and would like to make sure i re-fit the prop the correct way around.
