    Has anyone seen these (Airtabs)

I'm assuming that these are the same load of tosh as the fuel magnets and the air spinner things... but I can see the principle behind them. Defenders are about as aerodynamic as a brick and the drag created by the boxy end will be loads more than a sleek saloon type car....They are sold as...

    landy insurance

I find that in general I have to change my normal car (astra I 'fraid) insurance every year, but I've been with Lancaster for 3 years on my landy and I find them very cheap. That said I'm in the process of listing all the mods I've made to send to them and I've no idea what they will say. Luckly...

Air in 110 CSW 200TDi PAS system...

Right, i've washed the oil and crud off the steering box and still cant find a leek. A bit of further investigation seems to show that turning the steering wheel (on axle stands running at idle speed) for a few mins does not show any bubbles appearing into the steering fluid header tank. When I...

Air in 110 CSW 200TDi PAS system...

Sadly there is no obvious leak, I've still to get the engine steamed as I've just not had time before work (I start at 2 tomorrow so plenty of time). I dont relish the prosepect of getting both the pump and box done.... :(

"Green Lanes" in France and Ireland

I'm off to southern France over the summer, sadly I'll be flying in and hiring a car this time, but next time I'll get a ferry and take the 110.

Air in 110 CSW 200TDi PAS system...

It more the fact that I am having to bleed the system of air so often that gives me cause for concern. 'bait

Air in 110 CSW 200TDi PAS system...

Ah-ha. Ok, I'll have a poke around before work tomorrow and see what happens, cheers.

Air in 110 CSW 200TDi PAS system...

I gave it a few turns and paused at each lock for a couple of seconds and re-bled. I didn't see any fluid at the base of the radiator, but then I have just fitted a huge great steering guard which is making it a little difficult to see what is going on under the front. I'll get the box cleaned...

Air in 110 CSW 200TDi PAS system...

I've got a bit of a problem... I replaced the seals on my steering box (which I will never do again....) 10 months ago and it has been fine, untill the other day. The steering has become stiff when changing direction severly, ie parking and so I bled the air from the system and added some fluid...

    Steering problem

Have you tried bleeding your steering box? Its quite simple and may help. It sort of helped mine, which had the same intermittent stiffness that would get really stiff for a second or so and then get easy.

"Green Lanes" in France and Ireland

Having had my landy for a year now, I'm looking to take it abroad to either France of Ireland. Does anyone know of the laws regarding the rights of access and what constitutes a green lane type of road in either country? Has anyone been to either country and can offer some tips? Cheers, 'bait.

    Green laneing in Kent

Adz, that link seems to be dead, but I've driven on some of pilgrims way and it has some great views. I think it has some sort of seasonal closure on it, but I could be confusing it with the Ridgeway, in fact as I type, I'm almost certain its the Ridgeway thats partly closed for the winter. I...

    fitted big intercooler

I've got no numbers or figures for you (sorry 'bout that) but I've had my 200tdi taken to allisport and had a full width intercooler fitted and its fantastic. I'v been driving like a maniac around town and I even overtook someone on a hill!! Ok, so I'll get bored of the new found acceleration...

Traffic incident , Any police here

As far as I'm aware as long as insurence details are exchanged and there are no injuries to any parties, you are under no obligation to report the accident it to the police. If the other driver appears intoxicated then that would be different but if every knock and bump was reported to the...

    Intercooler or not?

I was also looking to change all the pipes as I'm sure they are 14 years old. I shouldn't think there will be any performance difference, but I'm told the better pipes will not expand or burst when the turbo pressure is increased (and they are a cool blue colour).

    Intercooler or not?

Oops, oh well never mind, 'tis done now, well sort of, just have to get the thing fitted.

Really? I hadn't realised that BOATS didnt extend into wales. I was looking to get an intercooler fitted at Allysport and make a bit of a weekend of it by poping over the border to south wales and doing a couple of lanes but it looks like it may be a bit of a 'mare. I guess I could contact the...

    Intercooler or not?

I'v just bitten the bullet so to speak and forked out for a full width intercooler from Allysport for my 110 200TDI CSW. I'm due to get it fitted in november sometime. I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm hoping it should help me keep the speed up on hills as when its loaded up with a couple...

I'm no expert, but I have quite a good, cheap method for finding greenlanes. I'm lucky (or unlucky) enough to live in London and there is a huge map shop called Stanfords near Covent Garden. I pop down there every couple of months and perruse their OS 1:25,00 scale maps looking for the holy...
