Get yersel a multimeter set to amps, take the + lead off the battery and put the multimeter on the post of the battery then put the other lead to the + battery lead and see if you have any amp draw when everything is powered down. I think ypu should have no more than about 1amp coming out...

Ht cable normally refers to the high tension lead which runs from the ignition coil to the centre of the distributor cap

Take the lid off your expansion tank and give the contents a sniff you should be able to smell exhaust gases in the water, its hard to explain the smell but you will just know its wrong. The other ones are creamy mayonaise like deposits on the dip stick and oil filler cap

Just take the fan off alltogether as its not really needed on the 200tdi if your antifreeze/water mix is ok. Unless your towing a heavy loads up big inclines it never really cuts in anyway, I have and had no problems all last year. Im sure Trewey will say the same as I took advice from him in...

I have driven my totally standard landy through water that came up to the height of the bonnet. Luckily i had been on an offroad driving day the week before and remembered about the bow wave thing, my son was in the passenger seat almost crappin himself
