I didn't mean 300 miles to a tank - I just did a 300 mike trip. I get about 440 to a tank but it's not a good guide as I have never gone from brim to empty and gauges are never accurate.

That's great you have obviously looked after them and used good fuel or you are very lucky. They are probably not working to their best though at that mileage - any smoke? What mpg are you getting?

River Ron himself says injectors should be considered consumables and changed at 80k miles - in his instructions he stresses that a good condition fueling system is essential or the synergy will make things worse!

Took Freelander into City Electro Diesel in Swansea today. They did a full test on Bosch kit and a road test then came back and said there is nothing wrong with it!!! I was not too happy so drive the guy out - he said it was such a small shimmy and they all do that - those words are a red rag...

The injectors are at the end of their life - it seems they are ok for about 80k miles to 100k miles - thing about an injector test if the issue continues - cost is about £20 per injector but you have to get them out.

Another thought - you say the garage checked injectors - to do this correctly you have to remove them and get them on a Bosch test rig - there are differing modes of fuel delivery and if the initial per injection and low delivery is missing it may not show up in a Leakback test. How many miles...

Don't go synergy without fixing the fault - I did and have spent months chasing problems - mine is off again going for diagnostic tomorrow.

It's booked in on Thursday for a diagnostic in City Electro Diesel Swansea - I spoke with them and they will do a road test and collect live data.

What did the garage suggest it was? My bets are on the MAF still. Or perhaps the crank sensor -top left of engine under the plastic intercooler box.
