P38A Mondial vs Hurricane wheels value

One is a '97, the other I don't know yet. They're diesels, mine's a petrol. Mostly buying it for interior parts, wheels and the rear seats. Idea is to pick/swap what I need and sell it. Yeah they're a factory 18" wheel, the ones that are star shaped. I quite like them but I also like the...

P38A Mondial vs Hurricane wheels value

Hi all, I'm looking into buying a parts car (p38) and have two options at the moment. One has Hurricane wheels, the other has Mondials. Just wondering which of the two are the most desirable/valuable wheels?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

The tailgate button on my green p38 was f'ed. They pulled out wires and you needed to open it by touching one of the wires to the body. Today I learned why they did that I need a new one. Ahh yes my bad, my post was not clear... I meant I wouldn't worry about disconnecting the battery and...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I would take the alternator off. That's actually quite easy. I wouldn't worry about disconnecting the battery, I'had no issues with it. Just a bit of a faff to reset the window limits etc.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I messed about today with the bonnet locks. One of the cables was not working smoothly so I flushed then out with wd40 and pumped some ptfe grease in them. I found this issue because I replaced the bonnet release in the cabin. An original LR part yet the slots in which the cables sit are not...

    P38A Tyre advice needed

Had a brief look into them earlier but discarded them on the basis that for the p38 on 16" rims these would come at 180€ per corner, which is incredibly expensive. And since I found no reviews or tests to suggest it was better than the Yokohama g015 I didn't look further into them. I actually...

    P38A Tyre advice needed

After some research I have narrowed down the list to two tyres. Based on reviews, test reports, youtube videos and forum advice. I now need to choose between all season road tyres or mild AT tyres. Since offroading and greenlaning is in most places illegal here in Belgium, I expect my use to be...

    P38A Tyre advice needed

Yeah I won't be able to get those anymore I'm afraid.. But I will stick to the original sizes: 255/65R16 or 255/55R18. I was thinking about those but kind of apprehensive because I have Nexen N'Blue S's on my Seat Leon and they are really quite terrible. I will put them back on the list. I...

    P38A Tyre advice needed

Another tyre thread... Looking for new tyres for my p38. Mostly on road use, toeing etc. But occasional wet grass or slightly muddy tracks. When looking through the forums I find that the General Grabber AT3 is the most recommended tyre but when looking at tyre tests this is really poor with...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Based on your post I dis the welding with a zip tie. Makes a stinky mess but it works and works better dan welding on the old cut offs. I found that it worked best when you put the soldering iron onto the stub that sticks trough the board, then push in the ziptie from an angle and keep it in...

    P38A Interior mirror l320 on p38?

Nope mine is slide on/off. According to RAVE mirror fitment changes from MY 2000 onwards. If I find a cheap l320 type mirror I might try the conversion (glass looks the same as on picture Datatek posted btw).

    P38A Interior mirror l320 on p38?

I seem to have started something here.. So this is my mirror. With 'fluid level' I mean the arc where you have a color difference. If you press your finger on the 'bronze' part the arc moves up, seems to be some kind of liquid. No signs of leakage outside the mirror though.

    P38A Interior mirror l320 on p38?

Mine has visibly leaked fluid, althought thats what it seems like. You can see that the fluid level has dropped, but I don't see a leak. When I googled this it appeared that this was a common issue. And apparently the L320 mirror doesn't go bad over time.

    P38A Interior mirror l320 on p38?

I found online people that solved the crappy mirror on the p38 which starts leaking fluid by attaching a mirror of the l320 onto the p38 mount. Any pointers to a how to on how this should be done? My p38 is a 1999 model with the early automatic dimming mirror.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Been faffing about with the window switch pack on my p38 today. Found a very nice thread by Martyuk on another forum detailing how to fix them one you've got it all apart its a very doable job. Not sure what the policy is about linking to other forums on here, so no link but google is your...

    P38A 1999 2.5 DSE down on power

I messed a bit more with it today, adjusting the fuel quantity meter part with a hammer. A few taps forward and now it runs beautifully. Still not very torquey but better than before and running smoother. Gear changes also happen sooner. So nothing broken after all, just human error. Very happy...

    P38A Head gasket advice needed

I heard from a LR specialist that one of the illnesses of the V8 is that the cylinder liners start floating which will lead to coolant consumption and blowby 8bto the cooling system. When he hear the mileage on this car (260k kilometers) he said "let's hope it's not the original engine"...

    P38A 1999 2.5 DSE down on power

The thing is that the car is up for sale and I'm not willing to buy the Nanocom module for a single use. I am already making a loss on the car. That's why I used the hammer method.

    P38A 1999 2.5 DSE down on power

Thanks all! I cleaned the MAF sensor with contact cleaner, replaced the hose clamps in the inlet before the turbo (they were bit broken) and I replaced the vacuum line to the MAP and checked if the MAP connection on the manifold was clear. No noticeable improvement unfortunately. It's not...
