    Running a TD5 without a viscous fan?

Some would say you dont actually need the viscous fan at all that the Disco is over cooled using it, certainly in recent cold weather mine took an eternity to warm up and cruising about 50 on B roads it sat well below normal operating temperature. I dont think Id want to be towing in summer with...

    L322...that bad?

That would not fill me with a lot of confidence . Having said that I bought my Disco having done a lot of research and was pretty sure it would go wrong. It has at times, but its relatively simple to fix myself, I wouldn't say an L322 is so home mechanic friendly. I wonder how the L405...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Changed PAS pump, fitted new drag link and steering rods.

    What caravan are you towing?

What sort of caravans are you all pulling with your trusty Landrovers? Here's our Swift Challenger Sport 636 with the D2 heading for France last summer :)

    Bumper Driving / Fog Lights

Could you measure them and give me the dimensions? Is the mounting plinth completely flat at the back? Do the bulb holders extend back past the mounting plinth, ie would you need clearance holes behind whatever its mounted onto? Thanks.

    td5 straight through pipe

I had cat removed and centre silencer leaving just the small back box, it sounded amazing, then MOT regulations in N Ireland changed and had to put CAT back on :( which quietens it a fair bit.

    L322...that bad?

A work colleague has just bought a 2006 for £6700, only 120K miles and a new autobox at 80K, nice looking car but ruined with 22" Khan alloys and chrome mirrors and vent surrounds - very "pimp my ride".

    Bumper Driving / Fog Lights

They look fantastic. My facelift D2's foglights are starting to corrode inside. Wonder would these fit on the front bumper over the existing light mount and be at an appropriate angle to direct light to the correct place?

    Defender Security

South African approved flamethrowers mounted under the doors? :flame2:

    L322...that bad?

I really fancy one but the potential for extortionate repair bill should something go badly wrong scares me into keeping the trusty Td5 Disco.

    What's good about a disco??

Space, driving position, comfort, effortless towing ability, ruggedness, ease of maintenance, looks, road presence etc etc - I love mine (most of the time). Cant think of a car I could replace my D2 with which would blend the same characteristics yet be as affordable and simple to maintain...

Electric window motor failure - again!

Plastic sheet is fine and sealed with Duck tape. Swapped other switches over, switch working fine, in fact when you press the switch you can hear it operating a relay somewhere under the dash.

    Front Bumper fell off!

I read the title of this post and thought "How the F... did his bumper fall off?" I had to take mine off to fit my spotlights and it certainly didnt just "fall off"! ;) Love the "front fell off" sketch though!

Electric window motor failure - again!

Good idea about the tag - have etoll for the motorways in Repblic of Ireland, apart from the M1 which is seperately charged! It seems to move freely although slowly and having replaced regulator as well I think all is aligned - might be worth another check, but it can wait till the better weather.

    Ugliest Disco ever

:eek::eek:No not for me either, colour coding looks well IMHO when its factory done, after market DIY jobs seem to cheapen the look of a car, and that bonnet scoop is a disaster

    BFG high mileage

Ive just replaced my old General Grabber AT2s with a set of the new ATs. I had them on my Discovery so long I actually forgot how old they were I would say 60 - 70K miles, they were far from worn out, still had plenty of tread but the sidewalls were begining to show signs of cracks so changed to...
