Actually - wait a minute: 1) the supermarkets case was unleaded petrol where excessive silicone was present which bggrd up the oxygen sensors on certain cars. So not relevant here. 2) 5,000 hours @ 30mph is 150,000 miles. I am already on 120,000 so not too big an issue even if it is true...

Good find! It doesn't give a source, but it is being pretty specific, so I will take that as evidence....bggr. Now all I have to do is get rid of the rest of the 400 litres or so of used chip oil that I have left.

I am using an oil with anti-foaming agent. I have searched far and wide for evidence that this does harm, but I can't find any. Mine contains E900 Dimethyl Polysiloxane which seems to be a common anti-foamer in foodstuffs including chicken nuggets and Diet Pepsi. I think you are going to find...

I had a different problem - didn't start at all when i changed my gearbox last year. However, the problem was an earth strap which attaches to the gearbox. If you haven't done it up, the strap rests on the gearbox and gives a bit of earth, but not enough. Have a look there first.

MOT'd the wife's disco. It failed on tyre and a bulb, but fixed them. Then reversed into an open stable door and smashed the rear light cluster. Bllx to parking sensors......

I think officially you are supposed to have mph on your speedo as well (or at least marks which indicate 30 40 50 60 and 70?). This seems to be the case with bikes, although my bike is ten years old, has a kph clock and has been through three MOTs with no problem.

Changed the fuel filter. Just done the first 400 hundred miles on WVO and was beginning to get some fuel starvation with all the crap that must be lifting in the tank. Having seen what came out of one of my jerry cans after filling it with clean WVO, I now understand why this happens...
